Just downloaded the PS3 option file with updated home kits for Arsenal, Everton, Man U, Liverpool, Chelsea, West Ham, Blackburn and Aston Villa. Although the work is sterling, I can't help but feel robbed by Konami on this one. For what possible reason would you place such limited edit options on a (so called) next gen title? It's nothing short of laughable. No boot edit. No badge edit. No extensive shirt edit. What the hell are they thinking? They have just slapped in the face all the millions of die hard PES2008 fans all over the world who like to tweak the game to perfection.

Overall, the whole game feels half finished to me, Rushed and badly adapted. Here you have the PS3, with the most cutting edge console technology and 60GB of storage to play with, yet it's half as extensive as the PS2 version in terms of edit modes, presentation and stadium lists, not to mention tragic slowdown.

I have emailed Konami direct and asked them what they intend to place in the forthcoming PES2008 patch. I know it's going to solve the in game lagging, that's a given. But I can't see why they can't offer us a few extra edit slots for shirt sponsors either. After all, won't this make the game better for tens of millions of Premiership fans all over the world??

I'm certain my request will fall on deaf ears but hey ho, there's no harm in trying. That is unless some edit whizz kid out there can find a way around these limited PS3 options and find a way to edit more sponsors names to the kits, along with their real badges.

I've been thinking since Friday and it sure has hell has got me stumped.

Yeah I felt so let down I just went out and got the PS2 version. I got a PS3 just for PES2008. But even in the PS2 version, there's no boot edit mode, no custom hairstyles and not one new item in the shirt shorts or socks edit mode! Not one little thing! I feel Konami have really let themselves down this year. They've achieved so much getting the licence for each and every single club team and vastly improving the national licensed sides but in the face of this, it goes unnoticed

I just don't get the restrictions on the edit mode? Why are they cutting this back from previous years? Surely the game should be evolving on next generation consoles, not going backwards.

Reading recent interviews, sounds like Seabass is also underwhelmed by 2008. He said that "he's satisfied with the game in the time frame they were given to work in".

No wonder the game feels like a work in progress for PES2009.
