Goal Keeper disappearing?

I was playing against Bolton Wanderers and in the second half, I noticed that the keeper (Walker) disappeared! This was a Master League match and I was playing the original Pro Evo 5 disc with no patches/option files.

This was very weird. I even played the replay and scrolled across the names and couldn't find Walker. (I know he's Ian Walker because you can see the line-up of other teams from Formation Settings)


So I took a shot from 50 yards out and it went wide Obviously, it was a goal kick but the keeper was nowhere to be found...

This forced me to make a substitution and magically, the keeper came back!

Anyway, I hope this doesn't happen again and it seems that Konami might have overlooked this error.

Sounds like a pretty stupid glitch - but it would be funny as hell if your mate's goalkeeper disapeared during a match.:laugh:

Nope, no-one touched him and on the player radar, there was no one on the side-lines.

I should've taken a pic because when Bolton had their goal kick, no one was there to kick it (as opposed to a defender kicking it if keeper was off injured).

I think tom_pain may be right.

From the way you're describing it, it does sound like a horrible graphical glitch.

I've had things like this happen to me once or twice in older PES/WE games.

You should check audience, I had a goalie in my team, doin` the same thing-signing his photos to a nice girls during the game...This was in real life, but, isn`t it the thing we all looking for in PES?

Oh, come off it!

For starters, this bug isn't half as bad as the PES3 goalkeeper bug (remember when the keeper is supposed to catch a routine ball in the area, he stands around for about 5 seconds before suddenly picking the ball up?)

Or how about the bug in ISS Pro Evo 1 where you could shoot, the ball lands on the roof of the net and the ball magically bounces into the goal net (thus counting as a goal)?

It happened to me a couple of times during PES4. it looks really strange, like Barthez just comes running out from the spectator stands, only to hang his head in shame when someone scores into an open goal.

Was it close to the end of a match? iI've experienced that goalies come up on corners if there is a slight chance for an equalizer (esp. cup-match), which I think is a cool addition . Could this have been the case with you?

oh that's different from what i mean.

this one was just really strange. barthez was running straight out from the right-side of the field, from the spectator stands. as though he went for a pee and came back too late.
