the best starting 11 and subs made up of free agent players. most of these will join your team in D3 (even in extreme mode).

GK - Van Der Sar (holland)
CB - Suarez (mexico)
CB - Gamarra (paraguay)
RB - Ulises (Equador)
LB - Abdullah (Turkey)
DMF - Guardiola (spain)
RMF - Babangida (nigeria)
LMF - Fadiga (Senegal)
OMF - Juninho Paulista (brazil)
CF - Rebrov (ukraine)
CF - Edilson (brazil)

Subs:
GK - Rustu (turkey)
CB - Onopko (Russia)
LMF - Denilson (brazil)
CF - Olisadebe (poland)
CF - Emile Mpenza (belgium)
DMF - Mostovoi (russia)

if you get these players you should find extreme mode a piece of cake.

If you are like me and play with a big man up front. I suggest being either Sand (Den) Kecavovic (Yug) or Morales (Uru) all are quite tall with Heading and Jumping in the high 80's or 90's. If you get a good crosser ( I usually buy Dyer although he's quite expensive) they can usually head home 1 or 2 a game.

I found that the more time the winger has to get it in, the better the cross. I usually stick Dyer on the right of midfield, set his position so he's almost in line with the strikers. This gets him in to some good positions especially if you attack the defence with the right back, or switch sides really fast.

Usually use 0 (L1 + 0 doesnt work for me) , putting the big man at the far post, with the crosser at a diagonal towards goal. sometimes mix in a few 00's for good measure

Who are the best free agent players?
I didn't see many free agents so far only in my second season though.
