Sorry if this sounds a little cheeky coming from what is, after all, a newbie (to the forum, NOT the game). However, I couldn't help wanting to give you a severe slap as I read your rant about pro evo 2010.
It's only a bloody GAME! Much as it has enriched my gameplaying life, it is just a game. No-one died. And, in an imperfect world, the game is just that. Imperfect. No game is perfect....get over it.
PS - The refs are shite, but they are shite for both sides. I've lost count of the times I've chopped a player down and he hasn't even blown for a foul. Roll with the punches and realise that nothing can ever be perfect. Not really.
Also, I have managed to take my Celtic team from the pits of division 2 up to the summit of the prem (yes, we gatecrashed the prem fuckers lol) in the course of 5 seasons by building my squad and refining my play in that time.
For me pro (warts and all) is miles better than the alternative, the strangely unrealistic and weird FIFA.
So, by all means go ahead and blast Konami. Or even better simoply don't buy the game anymore...
However, I can assure you that perfection is unattainable ANYWHERE. It's an illusion created by the human mind to try and rationalise ourselves and the fact that we will die and become dust some day.

While I agree with everything else you've written, this bit baffles me. FIFA has been very highly praised by reviewers, yet people on here talk about it like it's the worst alternative ever.
It's so weird how people on here treat the PES/FIFA divide like a fecking war. Do you people get like this over Pepsi and Coke?

The problem is that FIFA is suffering from most of the same problems that PES do, so if you quit playing PES and start to play FIFA it's like wanting to dump your girlfriend, but have her change her name instead.
The way I feel it, let's say FIFA and PES has gotten about 80% right (random number really) 15% of what's wrong is the same with both of them, and the last 5% is different faults in each of the games. So you'll only trade one gripe for another by changing.
Player individuality is something I, and most PES players value however, so changing to FIFA where player individuality is close to zero is not a good option.
If I would rate both games, I would give them 60/100.
While 60 is low, there are only a few adjustments needed to bring the games up to 90ish, but because of the severity of the flaws (Referee's in PES, lack of "freedom" in FIFA) I stand by my 60/100 score.
I understand that people are frustrated, I can relate to why they stop playing the game, but I do not see any point of repeatedly stating the obvious. If you're unhappy, tell KONAMI directly, tell them what you like and dislike about their game. But I suspect most people whining here are not legal game owners, statistically at least half of us are using pirated copies anyway and have really no right to complain.

The two games couldn't be more different. However, I'm not going to state the differences because I'll just be accused of *shock horror* preferring FIFA. Which I do, it's the best football simulation I've ever played.
By the way, I paid my £40 on the day of release for both of them.

Pes of old will always rule over fifa but some of my best gaming momets ever have come through going on unbeaten runs with my mates online on fifa. Were so good online. When you play with a friend fifa is such a fun game. If Pes can finally manage to muster up some fluid, clunk-free gameplay it may last more than 3 months for me. Pes 2010 is a great game btw

As all the PES fans said to the FIFA fans (yes, note how I am basically referring to them as if they were football teams, because gamers seem to have too much brand loyalty) a couple of years ago; graphics do not improve gameplay. I'd agree that you can't always tell players apart on FIFA (although as long as you know who is playing where, you should be able to have a rough idea), and I personally love the player graphics on PES, but if your willing to lose control over players and gain more lifelike players, you might as well just take a PlayStation controller to a real-life match of football and pretend that you are telling the players to do what they are doing.
Anyway, given that FIFA has massively outsold PES, and has got higher critical scores, for you to entirely dismiss my opinion because I rate FIFA10 is the most snobbish, stuck up thing I've seen. Grow up.

I never said that they were alike at all, I was saying that both games had major short comings, and most of those short comings were the same. That's not the same as saying the games are identical.

True, no game is perfect, but some are decent. It seems you fail to see point in my post. This game gets worse and worse every year. Yes you are 100% correct in that "it's only a bloody game!". Thank you Captain Obvious, but why should I continue to give these robbers my £40 each year knowing it's just going to be another mega disappointment? If the game was free then I wouldn't even bother complaining. It's the fact the company has been so lazy the past couple of years and still expect to keep the fanbase they had at their peak.
And the comments about no-one dying, etc, maybe you are reading the thread too seriously? I don't think I conveyed the topic to be world headline news or that I was so angry that I was contemplating suicide.

Can you actually read? Or did you just notice I was a Rangers fan and had to argue with whatever I was saying? If you can read then you will notice that my main reason for this thread was to let Konami know I AM NOT BUYING THEIR GAMES ANYMORE.

Ah ok if you can assure me then that means it must be true? Again where in my post did you see me saying the game has to be perfect to be worth getting? It simply has to be improved and decent. They get £40 off millions of people each year yet the game remains flawed and in some instances goes backwards? That makes no sense at all.

PES 2010 is better than fifa fail 10 this year because it works
I still like it, ive spent time editing some teams n chants to make it more realistic, loving the ML and BAL

Just play the older Pro Evos like I do man instead of forking over your cash all the time. Wait a while before the next revolutionary PES with great reviews comes out.
I don't even have any next gen systems except for a Nintendo DS, I pretty much just play PS2 and Dreamcast. Other than online play don't think we're missing out on much to be honest.

Mate, i have pes 2010. its not realistic, thats it in a nutshell, all this shit about changing stats, monitor resolution, lowering the AI difficulty and all this other shit just to get a semi decent game is embarrassing for next gen, you shouldnt have to be doing that shit.
Its behind by some way, go and play the fifa world cup demo, then play pes2010, there is a sizeable difference in realism.
This is why that dudeski moron was way off the mark, i know the pes marks are deluded to high heaven, but anyone who thinks pes2010 is miles better than fifa 10 needs sectioning....permanently.
Overall both games are disappointing, fifa 10 was a disgrace to gaming because of its bugs, but lets get fucking serious here, PES is the game that needs the complete overhaul, not fifa, like i said, play the world cup demo (which is fifa 10 slightly refined) and compare that to pes2010, i defy anyone with a fucking brain to tell me pes 2010 has better core gameplay, that alone tells you which game is where right now.
