Wanted to start this thread. If you could choose only one player to anchor your team, who would you select and why? Would it be a goalkeeper? A forward? A defensive back? Henry? Maybe you'd stick with John Terry, or even Ronaldinho. Let the debate begin, and if possible, give a reason why you chose the player you did.

But if we're including classic players, Beckenbauer, who's basically a better version.

Rooney for me, he plays just like he does in real life and that is a good thing.

It will depend on different things for different people obviously. For people who enjoy a knock about with plenty of good goals, someone like Henry or Ronaldinho, for the boring ones who keep a tight defence, maybe Puyol or Cech.

I love the Master League, and so my favourite is Ryan Babel or Park Ji Sung. Both improve immensely.

I like Nedved, Roscky, Heitinga (after some development). Henry and Adriano are both very good too, but henry edges it because he has more versatility.. I think Ronaldinho is over-rated. his stats are great, but for some reason he just doesn't play so well for me. Tool hard to name a single player I reckon.

For me it is Mario Kempes. Actually he was my second choice. No matter how hard I tried I could not land Maradona on my team. On his first season, he was a flop scoring only 2 goals the entire season. I wanted to load him off the next season but it was not possible. Then the impossible happen. One of my centre forward was injured and I had him placed in the centre. Ever since then he has been scoring like 1 goal in every two games. He does not tire easily so I can use him often. Try this. With a wall in front of the goal mouth, just aim at Kempes (he will be moving back and forth). Once you have him in view just pass the ball to him and hit square. Chances is he will score.

Fernando Torres scores more consistenly for me than Adriano, though the Emperors tend to be a little more spectacular, and Fernando Torres has We Sneijder on his wong to play him in.. But Fernando Torres scored 26 for me last season in the league on 5*, and thats with me rotating the squad a lot. Adriano does score a lot, but Fernandoes leading the way this season too, 3 ahead of Henry hafway through the season.

adriano, i wasnt sure then i done the italian league and he was unbelievable, his shooting beats ant thing and he gets into good positions, hes pretty quick , good in the air, tall and strong, put him with recoba and i destroyed every other team in the league

henry is class but not every match like adriano
babel when he developes is awesome (only used him twice, 5 goals scored) even before he develops hes pretty good

van persie when he plays well (too inconsistant)
ronaldinho is great but i still prefer adriano
emre, plays brilliant every game, same as dyer and gerrard

toure, rb or cb he is class
robben is great when i use him

they are all close but id say adriano because he makes the biggest difference in my team, 50 goals in 34 italian league games speaks for itself

Ronaldinho defenitly ! You can do everything with him, he's fast, he has good technical skills and he's free kicks are amazing..

CLassic: MAradonna, ripped a mate to shreads with him.
Adriano: Shoot from anywhere and its possible to score with him, excellente.
