Guidance to installing option files

Apologies in advance for what must be a really stupid question forun


But after years of playing FIFA I am finally jumping ship.

I am roughly aware what option files do and why they are so important to PES users, but I am not familiar with how to actually make them work.

In particular, how do I?

- Upload an option file on PS3? Is it a download from a website or do I need to use a USB stick?
- Do I purchase them or are they for free?
- What is BLES and BLUS and why is that important to me as a user?
- How do I choose the most appropriate option file?
and lastly - when will they be available?

Move to the Editing Questions sub forum. The "PES 2013 Completed Files" area is for completed files only. Guides to posting in the editing forum can be found in luukzwaan's threads.

1) You download the option file, save it to a USB stick and transfer to your PS3.

2) They're free.

3) You can see the BLES code on the side of your game box.

4) Choose the OF which applies to you. Do you want Championship teams? Or Bundesliga teams? Have a look around.

I'm sure other members can elaborate on my points for you.

As you’ve been kind to answer my original questions (and transferring the thread to the right forum), I hope you don’t mind providing some more clarification on two of the questions (for which I thank you in advance).

- Once you are in possession of the option file on a USB stick, how do you actually physically upload it onto PES 13? Is there a step by step guide on how to do that?
- You mentioned that there are going to be different option files (one for each league). Can you only choose one or can you combine a few (say Bundesliga, English Premier and so on)? The ones I am personally interested in are International teams and English Premier league.

1) When you've downloaded, needs to go in a 'SAVEDATA' (all in caps) folder, which in turn goes in a 'PS3' folder. At least that's how it was in previous seasons. The you just copy all the data into the PES 2013 folder in you savedata on PS3. I'm pretty sure (though not 100%) that you don't need to copy the System Data file.

2) Most OFs will have all Premier Lge/International kits and player names all sorted. They mainly differ in how they utilize the D2/PES league teams - some will add Bundesliga teams, some will add Championship teams.

If you have a look through the completed option files threads, see what's on offer. People should be able to answer your questions better in there (don't create a new thread, just ask within the thread).
