At last I have managed to capture my PES videos and make a movie out of it! I thought I might put a guide here to those who had the same problems as me...how do you actually capture video? What do you need?
All right. Let's start at the beginning : to capture video you'll need a card which supports ViVo. ViVo means Video in Video out : your card is multi-fuctional. It can put the image on TV to work or play on a bigger screen, and it can recieve video data from external peripherics : all this in one port (S-video, composite, RF, etc...).
First of all, before buying anything, check if your graphics card supports ViVo or not. This is simple : if you have an nVidia graphics card, you need to download the WDM capturing driver, which supports all nVidia based video cards.
http://nvidia.com/content/drivers/drivers.asp
Choose "multimedia drivers", then select WDM drivers, the select your graphics card.
After installing the program and rebooting your system, go into control panel and see if there's a "!" mark next to a peripheric. If there isn't that means your card supports ViVo, and you can start capturing video from your PS2. If there is, see what's the error code : it should be code 10, which means your card doesn't support ViVo, and you should buy a TV card. You can either order one or go to the nearest supermarket and buy one. Every TV card is good as long as it has s-video (black hole lol ), composite, and RF "holes" in it. I bought mine for 50 $ and it works fine. Install the driver and you are ready to capture video.
As for ATI based graphics cards, I don't know how to verify the ViVo compatibility...
That's it for now, if you have any questions, feel free to ask : I'll help.
