Have I engineered my own downfall???

I started playing the ML with Liverpool a few weeks ago, started with 20 million, signed Andy Carroll (I tempted fate there, i'm sorry) Ashley Young and Zamora.

Sold nearly my whole team bar Torres and Gerrard, had to play the first half of the season with a very limited team, I'm playing for my job at this point, 3 points behind Arsenal, going into the last game against Man City, I need 4th or I'm gone. Caroll bags two, but Arsenal draw. i'm 5th.. But I still keep my job!

New start, signed some amazing players, Saurez, Darren Bent, Perin (Excellent keeper), Zuniga and Jagielka.

So far so good, got a great team, 120,000,000 nothing but good prospects. I need a new Scout, Goalkeeping coach and a doctor, 5 Mill each? why not, I want the best. coming in the summer, look forward to it.

After yesterdays robbery at the hands of Liverpool, I was fuming, Atletico Madrid came in for Torres, £35 million its your fault Carrolls gone!! (Yeah have him, I'll buy another great striker, your nothing to me now, you...)

So I've now got £155 mil, lets sign a new striker! Aguero, yeah why not, transfer deadline is that night so got to move fast, i'll have Benzema and Imbrahimovic on standby.

Scout comes back, Aguero's a no go, (fair enough) Zlatan and Benzema are keen to sign, lets take a look at that... 65 MILLION!!! you having a laugh?? I only paid 18 mil for Bent and hes top scorer, Carroll only cost me 6 mil..

Go on then.. I've got £155 mill, sign here my friend, OK new Striker unvieled, this Premier Leagues mine!

Chairman wants a word, he's going to congratulate me on my excellent signings no? :) whats this? 70 million for wages? yeah thats acceptable you wanted me to win the Champions lea.. no?, other expenses, new staff, -17 MILLION IN THE RED.. Oh. Dear. :(

No new club doctor, no new Scout, no new Goalkeeping coach. oh and my existing ones were all sacked and i was given graduates as replacements, but on the bright side i'm no longer in the red, I got £340,000!

Shall I start looking for another club or can I turn this around??

How many seasons have you gone through? Unless you really want to start again I don't think you should. The ML is about bringing up talent through the ranks, looking at the future and basing your future success on current business ventures. The likes of Benzema and Aguero, nice signings but that's all they are, can make or break a team - financially! You can always find a great striker and in a season or two they'll leave these guys for dead. In PES 2010 I bought a very underrated free agent called Egooij, two seasons later he's world player of the year.

For me, it's the excitement of the next season and which players will stand out for me. I love it when I buy a young player and after 2 seasons or so they are unbelievable - Ilucznica is one of these and he's brilliant, can play anywhere on the pitch and has an unbelievable shot on that right foot of his.

I started my PES 2011 ML campaign with Shahktar Donetsk and made quite a few changes. What I found was the short term changes did sweet feck all for me, it was the younger players that changed my team around - Krysytov and Vitsenets have been immense. Very poor starters but a few seasons on loan and appearances as impact subs have really turned them around. I'm looking at doing the full ten seasons with Donetsk and every season I relish playing with them. I'm on season 5 now and the game just gets more exciting. I've started investing in asian players and the dividends are paying off - Abe a Japanese defender with a rating of 75 but plays like he's got 10 XP more.

My overall point is, focus on the mechanics of your team. Which players and added positions would add to your teams success. After my first season I was in the red but now I'm cooly floating with 180 million and that's after a lot of transfers.

One player I recommend getting is the Italian Candreva. Very solid and holds the ball well and his stats shoot up after a season and the dividends on selling him are high. I bought him for 4 mill and sold him for 26 mill after a season and a half.

just finished my first season!

so I can save it?? Barcelona offered me 43 mil for Reina, I've got perin so I may cash in on him..

so I just cash in on some of my players in January?? i'm never going to get my 65 mil back for zlatan though right??

I got some good youngsters, Perin, Zuniga, Palmeri and I still got Shelvey and spearing, so I may have to offload.

I'll buy that Candreva and some others I've been hearing about..

Cheers man!

Here's a nice big list of players, it is a bit of a spoiler for the game though. I prefer to do a lot of the research myself but it's nice to know which players should succeed.

Also another defender I'd recommend is Santon. Half a season through and I was offered 56 mill for him.

That's a good price for Reina. Perin will keep you happy so focus on your youth squad, Sykosio is a good prospect and you may have the opportunity to pick James up as well.

I've begun to focus on the crappy 44 rating players to see what I can do with them after 3 seasons, some may be some hot prospects with hidden agendas.

Tried to get Candreva, they wanted £12 mil for him, so I offered them £8 mil and it came back with the player wasn't happy with the offer (more like the club!) so I gave up.

Tried to sign Shawcross, but that was dead in the water, as well as Marin and Abate.

I did manage to sign Eriksen for £2 mil though, knocked them down from 2.5, so he should turn out to be a good signing.

I've noticed a weird thing happening with my players, if I put a player in a position he doesn't normally play in he will be 31, I move him to the position he does play in and then he becomes 79, so I move him back to where he was 31 and he's now 79?? weird huh?

If anything, you're fighting an uphill battle, which is an exciting challenge.

I'd say keep fighting, you'll get back eventually :)

Keep trying to sign Abate... he will grow immensely.. I am in my third season and Abate is something like 88OVR.
He would be a good buy in terms of immediate impact and then if you really need to sell him, he will bring on a great price.
