Have Installed Samsung Sh-d162d Into Pc,how Do I Get My Pc To Recognise The Drive?

Have fitted the SAMSUNG SH-D162D into my pc,but my pc dont recognise it exists,anyone know what I have to do??? please help! thanks.

you need to have a writer in your pc as well,
set one to master and one to slave with the plastic clips on the back of the drives

Hi steve,I have a writer in the pc also,when the bios came up as master and slave,the master was my writer,but my slave was empty,do i have to alter it in bios? if so,how?? cheers mate.

i cant remember off hand i just know i connected em as one master one slave, it didnt work so i changed em round and it worked

guys I bought an ide cable for this,I have connected my two drives to gether off this same cable,like a splitter to connect the two off the same lead,next to them,I have a few plugs saying p1,p2 and p3 I think it goes up to four,which p goes in the master and the slave? what does the master/slave look like?

Is the drive set to master or slave? Look at the back of the drive it will tell you. mostly likey you have on master so set it to slave.
if you need help how to change it there should be a sticker on the top of the drive explaining how?
