This is very interesting news

A few days back when everyone was blabbing about 360 movement, I said that the news was probably to with a new gaming, engine, possibly the new euphoria engine which could allow 360 movement plus much more realistic animations.

Guess what the headline blog is on WENB?

"GAMESCOM TO BE FULL OF (E)MOTION"

(E)MOTION= Euphoria (Euphoria is an emotion right)

See what im getting at here?

Stay Tuned.

Heres some analogies.

Think about cars, actually nah,..

think about your wheelchair, the fancy one with a gearstick on it.

Which gives you more control, Automatic gearing or Manual gearing?

I've been reading this thread with some interest and I think your analogies prove exactly what you were trying to not prove...

You are dead right that a difference between driving an automatic and manual means you have far more control in a manual. But the problem with the manual passing is that it means everyone ends up in the same Ford Fiesta.

If i'm in an automatic Ferrari and you're in a manual Metro, who's gonna win a race... Unfortunately the current manual passing means it doesn't matter which car you're in.

What we need is where the manual passing is implemented, but still the stats of the player you're using makes a difference.

It doesnt have to be, manual gearing in a ferrari f1 car is not the same a manual gearing in a fiesta. Fifa just needs to tune and tweak the manual system.

But yes, fifa does have problems with player individuality and need to fine tune the manual passing so that there is more of a difference between players.

I wanna get back onto topic with this news, which I think is big, because it think it could be a clear indication of what the this who-ha is about.

For those of you who missed it.

Sounds like you're right but knowing Konami....

PES really needs a new game engine and they also need to get out of the "Last Gen" mindset they have where they seem to think consoles still have limited storage space to save data. Hopefully developing the game on the PC will get them to utilise the Hard Drives in the PS3 and X-360 more.

PES 2010 will use motion capturing while the Euphoria engine is the opposite of that. So no Euphoria I guess...

Hmm maybe WENB talked about the motion captures being introduced in the game, not necesarily the euphoria engine. This is why they called it "(E)MOTION".
Emotions for the people who are waiting the news and motion=mo caps.

Actually I think you might be spot on with that.

I still made a separate thread anyways lol.

WENB have been making numerous indirect references to euphoria or a new game engine at the least, maybe they are just stirring again.

Im no expert on tihs sorta thing but apparently you can use euporia phyisics and blend them into mo-cap animations.

And yes WENB were referring to the new animations in the new build, but that cant be the major news they promised so I thought maybe they were hinting at something else as well.

So far gameplay we have seen looks like pes2009 to me, but eurogamer say the game looks dramatically different so we shall see.

WENB were making this news out to be HUGE! Bigger than 360 movement and stuff, i hope for the sake of certain individuals, the news warrants the hype.

pes2010 doesnt use the euphoria engine as this doesnt allow mo-capping and uses to high a polygon count.

Konami have got something better and have been doing mo-capping sessions with japanese pros at there japanese hq for the last year as well as a few sessions with messi and a freestylist.

The current engine in pes09 is more then adequate to implement 360 movement and passing and better collision detection.

The key to more fluid movement and a greater axis of passing is mo-capping this will be the quantum shift in pes this year and is badly needed.

Once people see the newer animation they will finally understand.

^^ What do you think it could be, if its better!

Just pure motion capture of all the players movements and the ball rather then the current system pes has been using for 10 years wear only certain animations are mo-capped and the rest are computer generated.

when you motion capture everything goalkeepers, the ball, nets it just makes the game look life like and fluid its going to make a major difference and give pes2010 a true next gen look and feel.

Let me put it to you this way we are not going to have restrictive 8-axis control and the old on rails feel to pes anymore.

Pes2010 will just be more organic and true as konami will capture better player collision animations and tackles.

Its a expensive and time consuming process but a valuable one that will mean all the work done this year will not warrant to many changes to the formula for a good five years.

Ive read different, ive read it can be used in conjunction with Motion capture animations.

http://aigamedev.com/open/articles/naturalmotion-euphoria/

"In practice, euphoria is most frequently used as an improvement of ragdolls, taking control for a few seconds at a time before blending back to motion capture. The active controllers have the advantage that they can simulate basic instincts like protecting one’s head or breaking a fall. On top of that, the controllers can be used to drive the ragdolls simulation actively (instead of blending linearly) towards a desired animation posture so the motion capture animation can be blended back in."

@ Tech I am done talking to you man. You told us all you you'll be off these forums and you kept that wonderful promise for a while and now you are back? Why? Nothing to do in your "real", if you even have one..?

Anyway I think shaun and a couple others made my argument about individuality perfectly clear.

Just answer ONE more question before I ignore you:

WHY are you on a PES forum? If you like FIFA so much? WHy dont you go on that one?

1) I never said how long id be off for.

2) Answer one more question before you do your 'Jilted lover/bunny boiler' act on someone else.

ISS PRO EVO all the way to PES 6, were the best football games of that time, I know this because unlike you, I was playing them when they came out, I even managed to get copies of some of these games, before release.

But, AT THE MOMENT

If fifa has got it so wrong, why is it that pes now seeks to Emulate fifa?

Look at all the possible major improvement in pes 2010, most of the are fifa innovations.

Tactics sliders- Originated in FIFA
360 movement-Originated in FIFA
Powerbar passing- In fifa before PES (as far as I know)
Motion capture- Fifa had that ages ago
Creating feedback forums for fans- Fifa had that ages ago

Now im not slaggin off pes for copying fifa, and im not saying fifa hasnt copied pes, im not even talking about who can do the ideas better.

but im talking about RIGHT NOW.

If fifa has it so wrong, why are PES emulating fifa ideas rather than ignoring them?

Thats what you dont get, if fifa was way off, PES would be looking to distance itself from all these ideas fifa are coming up with, not emulate them.

ON N64,PS1, PS2, PES was the undisputed best, right now, its not anymore, things change, Fifa has caught up, Im not going to pretend otherwise out of some stuipid loyalty towards pes, its up to PES to come back and sort itself out.

Bye.
