Two worrying things here,

1) He seems to be implying there is no 360 and no new engine, let me just be the first to say, if there is not, I personally will be kicking off, because the amount of fucking hints that have been dropped towards these 2 things being in the game is a joke.

2) He thinks pes 09 is a good game........time to fucking worry. Pes 09 is good in the sense that its better than pes 08, shit in the sense its one of the shittest pes's ever made.

so true. how anyone cansay pes 09 was good is beyond me. i aint played it since last november.

Let's just take a breather everybody! ;o)
@ Tech_Skill: No reason to be angry because of all the hints from various places. That has to stand on your own account if you have too high expectations towards all you have read - because as far as I know, we haven't heard anything from Konami - but only from guys who says they know insidepeople... ;o)
Well, we really can't use that now can we? For all I know, I could walz in here on this forum, and start telling people, that I've been involved in the production and leaked information. If I kept saying that I was telling the truth and kept saying "you can all believe what you want - I know what I know" - then at some point of time, a whole lot of people in here would either believe me or have expectations as high as a moutain.

All I'm trying to say:
On the other side of this weekend we all know better!
On the other side of this weekend Konami will finally have stepped forward and finally made an OFFICIAL statement of what we can all expect.
So far we only know that tactical sliders and what they call "player cards" are in the game. When you think about it, we haven't really been told for sure that Mo-cap is actually in the game! We all know they mo-cap'ed Messi - but we haven't been told if that was for the game, or just for the intro or teaser!!?
We all suspect as much, because it wouldn't make sence that they spend a whole day mo-cap'ing Messi and as rumours (there is that word again! Rumours - not an actual statement from Konami?) has it, then they mo-cap'ed a whole lot of japanese players...

So if we all have (too) high expectations, then maybe it's our own fault? Because Konami hasn't planted all those seeds of expectations! They have all been planted by different users/profiles here and there...

Did that make any sense!??!? ;os

It's starting to sound, yet again... like the same old BS, the same old scam. Both Konami and a few well-positioned fans have hyped and labeled PES10 as a "revolution".

But now all of a sudden, we should not expect a revolution... we should "love the game we have played and enjoyed for years". And some even say that "PES09 was a fairly good game".

It's all BS, I'm really hoping PES10 offers something new, a significant addition to the core gameplay. Be it 360 (or 16 directional) movements and passing, new Stats, some Wii elements, etc, etc.

The Sliders and Cards -alone- are not nearly good enough... PES09 and FIFA09 are both well out of date, weak efforts from both companies.

I'm hoping things change, and at the moment that's all I can bother to say. Plus the fucking contradictions need to stop, seriously, it's getting old.

It's usually something like "Shocking news this week" followed by "No one suggested that, so I don't know why some were expecting that type of improvements".

I can understand (for example) that Adam from WENB should not express his dissapointment outloud, it's obviously not good for the site -but- why call it 'big' news in the first place??

At least it's starting to sound like a 'playable' game.

I just want something core written down everyone going on about how its been completely revolutionized then one or two saying dont expect anything major....

just want confirmation on the (E)motion engine as that would be awesome along with 360 movement...

The game visually looks much better with deeper more filling graphics, and from that video of the studio tour messi looked good while moving all the body parts working together instead of a dead body with just a foot working.... thats why im keeping my hopes up they will deliver this year..

shanks

The 360 movement is not going to be like the 360 movement in FIFA. It probably just means that players and ball can acess all of the spots on the field depending on where they are.

Have a look at this video this is a 8 year old game on the ps2 by konami that had 360 degree movement and passing and a feature set that has still not been bettered and demonstrates more then anything else how fifa and pes are just not up to scratch.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GfpOdaX8h6w

I know, have been looking at thos video's for a while now. I cant recall if I ever played it but I've been playineg football games all my life (Arcade halls, Virtua Striker, Fifa, PES, etc.) so I know something has to change...

It gets even worse, WENB's adam, the guy who started the big secret talk in the 1st place has said this about the 50% build video we saw yesterday

"I feel everyone is tunnel visioned when looking at all info IMO.

The gameplay parts of the video were ace, and showed an improved PES. Some of you have become so engrossed in animations, you're missing the key improvements from PES 2009. First off, the passing was awesome. Accurate, satisfying, and certainly not annoying. Also, noticed how the majority of the gameplay showed passing NOT dribbling?

Secondly, Messi scored 3 times, all different shooting animations. One on his less favoured right-foot, one putting his foot through the ball, and the last was the lovely sidefoot animation.

The gameplay video was so far from PES 2009, surely everyone has to see at least that."

We will see at gamescom , personally I don't give a shit about 360 movement , all I want is much much better and realistic animations and gameplay , and also no AI assistance , invisible barriers and stuff like that , and more additions like cards and sliders etc...

A lot of people havent played perfect striker 3 but if they did they would realise how ripped off weve been with pes for the last ten years as this game was in another dimension.

You know those lovely automated curled in crosses that you can only do with the l1 and circle buttons, well, perfect striker 3 allowed you to do this with your left thumbstick and long pass button manually as well as many other manual features that have been missing from pes for 10years,you even had a one-two button and could delay.

The odd thing is pes09 and this game are similiar, pes 09 just lacks the full motion capturing of this game ie players, ball, nets and the fluid 360 movement and 360 degree manual passing mapped to the left thumbstick and x,o,triangle buttons.

Ive got this feeling though that pes2010 and perfect striker 3 are going to be very similiar this year as the 50% playtest mentioned pressure sensitive penalties and perfect striker 3 had this as well as pressure sensitive shooting, long passing, through passing, looping headers, top stats, card system, similiar tactical system but not on a slider,180 turns ect.

From that 50% video, the animations were lacking but if you notice, the game plays much better than 09 already. You just have to notice it.

the motion capturing will make a huge difference to the look and feel of the game i guaranntee you this as it will be more fluid and realistic and less wooden.

konami have already confirmed themselves that they have also done a lot of motion capturing with japanese pros throughout the year as well as messi and a freestylist so there will be more tricks and juggling..

thats why 360 movement is not a big deal because if you capture all the movements of a real pro you are in essence replicating the real game its how its implemented into the existing control scheme.

im still very hopefull that pes2010 will be a fluid less restrictive experience this year you only have to look at the tactical video plus theres still a possibility they have switched to a more advanced engine like euphoria its not out of the realms of possibility.

look at the original video released in july and notice that screenshot of messi that looks like euphoria to me plus the gameplay producer seems to be working on something else like mapping the existing code to a newer game engine when the older build is playing on the monitor next to this.

your limited with Mo Cap tho the players can only do what they have been programmed to do, with the emotion engine or 360 control you have basic responses that footballers will have but the ability to mix it up your way...

I have to throw my two cents in here.

I really can't see why everyone gets so worked up on the animations and whatnot. To be really honest, the animations WORK and it is playable.

PES is not a game that I will pause to wonder over the magnificent graphics or the way players move, no. It's a game that I will enjoy because it plays well.

I've played FIFA on the Xbox, and I found that the PLAYABILITY there was slow and more unresponsive than the PES (for PC, mind you). And don't try and convince me of otherwise, I'm not interested in your mindless bullshit - My mind is set on PES being a more playable game than FIFA.

You don't whine over how a car looks when it turns, as long as it turns well, do you?

this is the same as in real life theres only so many things a real pro can do with the ball in certain situations, its all about detail and making sure you motion capture and program these variations.

konami using the euphoria engine would not require a re-build they could still re-cycle a alot of the animations in pes09,the ai and add alot of newer motion captured animations this tactical video may well just be pes09 with the newer graphics and a few tweaks.

bungie did a similiar thing with halo on the original xbox i remember how that game completely changed within 3 months switching to a newer more advanced game engine and bungie where able to map all there existing work very easily over to this new engine in a very short period of time.

yea i totally agree that Mo Cap is needed to get the feel and movements of human footballers but what im saying is you see it in countless matches players pulling off tricks and they may or may not go well but you never see the same movement or skill twice there will always be something different...with the engine or 360 movement you will get the same movement/skill but with a slight difference to feel unique and not scripted....

with pes 2009 i like to use pace and skill to get past player and when you get into a routine you can do exactly the same all the time to get past people...really gets to me that there's no variety

i know what your saying but your expecting a game to replicate the complexity of reality and the randomness of different weather and playing conditions and the complexity of the physics of a real ball and the contact with your player and all the variations that come with this, which is quite some task to replicate.

maybe one day but not this year.

dont be sucked in by fifas 360 dribbling hype either,it is only possible to have 32-axis on a analog stick all fifa10 will allow is for you to have a additional 3 points of movement between each one of the current eight points when you touch the ball and im sure even pes this year will have greater movement angles then the current 45 and 90 degrees that 8-axis offers.

It would still be possible for konami to make pes10 32-axis if they already havent its just a case of interlacing newer animations with the current animation set as pes09 works by hitting 32 points it just divides them into eight to accomodate d-pad control which is the preference of a lot of pes fans.

32-axis or 360 degree movement is only possible on the analog left thumbstick and there lies the commercial dilema for konami because it wouldnt be that hard to implement and would give pes2010 more freedom.
