Headers/Crosses

Soooo, I figured it out.

Its double tap and back on the joystick when your about strike the ball. Goes on target all the time and your player automatically finds space for successful headers.I have scored quite a few that way. Try it out guys.

Works really well. I have been scoring headers all over the place now. Thanks so much for this :D

Hi Jeronimoe

thank you for sharing this info with other guys.

BTW, Does it work on TP LV and Superstar?

You cant imagine how badly I need goals in ML D2.......:erm:

Hope it works on PS3 too, will try it out soon.

Hi

Just done a few training matches using 2 tap circle for crossovers, scored a goal :D, but sometimes goalie can save it, but at least headers
normally on the target, will try it in my next ML fixture.

Ha Ha, really appreciated your help.

Good luck

I have been trawling the internet looking for answers and/or a tutorial on this issue. I think the ugly truth is that the heading/crossing system in PES 2013 isn't working properly because it isn't complete. With many other games devs, this is the sort of thing that one may expect to be fixed in a patch, but not with Konami. It will be PES 2014 before this is fixed.

As for now, it seems like Konami are trying to make the crossing and heading a bit more sophisticated. Whenever I win a header outright, I nearly always have to be manouvering my attacker (who heads ball) other than just letting the AI sort out the positioning. Also, if your player is under sort of pressure at all, then it is often a better option to try and knock the ball on or lay it off than go for goal. I kind of like this as it leads to a lot more scrapping and frantic penalty area action and in this respect, crossing can still be dnagerous in PES 2013.

So, that is what I am doing for the meeting headers side of things, but as for the crossing? Well, I find that a normal cross will always hit the back post, which means that if I point towards the opposite wing when making a cross, I am going to hit the ball way further than the dnagerzone in front of goal. To reliably get the ball into the zone in front of goal, I find that I need to push the joystick (after the cross button has been activated) either oppossite from direction of the ball and/or in the opposite direction of the goal. Of course, this leads to a much more floaty cross which is easier for the defenders to latch onto so again, it is often a better option to knock the ball on than to head on goal.

As for those times when your striker is unmarked and a simple crossed ball should really and truly be enough, only for you to find that the ball goes whizzing over his head or he makes the wrong run? Well, that is just a load of old AI manipulated bollox that says to me that the crossing/heading system is not finished, so they have had to botch the crossing in the meantime in the name of preserving balance. This is a bit like the ultra-nerfed shooting in PES 2012 disguising the incomplete/wonky goalkeeping AI.

pes 2014 will be on a new game engine

Tried the double tap crossing + left stick back and it really works. Scored a couple of headers and a great volley. Thank you!

From what I see in command list, crossing button is LS+B (XBOX) or LS+O (PS3) so we need to use the direction when crossing.

After several games I've tried this, assuming you are attacking to the right and your winger position who has the ball is on the left (base from your team's view or in the screen your winger is on the top), you have to see where your striker is, assuming he is running to far post but his distance to the post is not too close, then you have to cross with your LS down+left. If your striker move to near post and his position is not too close with the post, you have to cross with your LS up+left. If he is in the middle between far post and near post you just need to cross with LS left or right base on his position not too close or close with the goal. The logic is easy to understand, you use the LS to where your striker is when doing crossing.

Sorry if this is a repost, but I've tried this way and the ball fly to my striker more precise and the rest is just about air duel with defender and that is hard to win, just like the real game.

Another thanks from me. Scored after a couple attempts to get my first cross/headed goals.

Works a treat holding the opposite direction header. First time I tried it I scored from a corner in BAL in my opening game. I remember using this technique in 2011 because you'd nearly always overshoot crosses if you pressed the direction you were crossing

I've tried this method before but holding LS up or down doesn't effect the length of the cross correctly. If your player is on near post LS and B will always go long and miss him so you will have to double tap to do shorter cross.

If I use LS and B running down towards the end line the cross is pretty much always in line with the crosser when it gets in the box, I can never pull it back.

Similar problems here - can't aim crosses properly no matter how I pull the direction stick, and find it almost impossible to connect with headers and to hit the net. Vaguely remember scoring lots of headers in PES'12. System completely broken IMO. Sharp crosses + pull back seems gimmicky to me - I want to aim the cross as I please, to maneuver with the striker, and then to aim the header where I want it to go.

Game's a bit limited without crosses. Dribbling seems to have been nerfed, too, so most goals I score are aim-shots in 1-on-1s following lob through balls (really easy to pull off, since you can call runs with the right-stick), and tap-ins after long sequences of short passes. In the previous game you could dribble, shoot from afar, push through passes, cross... Game's still solid, though.

Blah Blah Blah Blah.

etc etc etc etc.

FACE FACTS YOU NUTTERS. THE HEADING IN THIS GAME IS BROKE. THEY NEVER HAD TIME TO FINISH IT. NOW STOP TALKING PISH WITH ALL THESE BULLSHIT METHODS THAT ARE NOTHING MORE THAN PLACEBOS. YES, PERHAPS 2% OF ALL CROSSES MAY RESULT IN HEADED GOALS, BUT THAT DOESNT MEAN THE SPECIFIC COMBINATION OF BUTTONS YOU HAPPENED TO BE MASHIN AT THE TIME IS THE CORRECT HEADING METHOD.

Ahem..

Now, stop trying to cross the ball in PES 2013, start playing long balls and through balls for 1-1's a plenty, and start winning instead of losing, which is what you will do if you keep trying to cross the ball in PES 2013.

You have a point sure BUT...

I also think the header/cross style of PES 2012 was toooo much..I mean many players I faced online just throw the ball on the flanks to Robben or Lavezzi for example and then CR7 in the box just heads...sometimes it is silly...it was the only way some people use to score.

I once played against Muric...the tallest striker in the game...he scored four headers!...Maybe I'm a bad defender but also it was too much

Give it a try bro, then come back!
