How do you head the bloody thing both when defending and shooting?

Appears that this is not the case! sHOULD i HOLD THIS BUTTON DOWN WHILE THE BALL IS IN FLIGHT OR AS IM ABOUT TO MAKE CONTACT?

Lol, use your common sense.

If it's like 7 meters above your head don't press it.

Anticipate the flight of the ball, and press it just when its above your head.

PS: If you let it drop a little more you'll boot/volley.

or you can pick unassisted selection and let the ai handle that part of the game

Well, in Fifa I just held it down once i made the cross, and I always won headers!

This aspect of pes is shite!

i think its cuz button presses arent stored anymore, now you have to press buttons as things happen. might suck for occasions when your goin to shoot for goal after a thru pass, but it hasnt shown up as problem yet for me

That will still work for you in pes BUT get used to using the R2 button to move your player in front of your marker before you press it down

or if the cross is reaching and unmarked player try using the same technique to move your player back at bit for a volley

As you know 'A' is pass and 'X' is shoot, so when the ball is coming in, you can either use 'X' and aim away or towards the net to have a shot/clearence. You can use 'A' to lay it on for someone else when attacking, so a tap of 'A' will be a little knock down, short distance, but if you hold the 'A' in then it will travel a bit more to go to the player you want. When defending, I usualy use the 'A' button to knock it just out either side of my 18 to someone, so they can take it on from there, but sometimes, its better to hoof it, because as we all know, the computer controlled players in your team will go fuckin nuts and plant the ball anywhere.
