How do you stop human players from running down the touchline cutting inside and scoring with that diagonal angle if you know what i mean.

wot u gotta do is be patient, when they are running down the wing dont dive in and try and tackle them becoz if its a fast winger then ur in trouble so just be patient and move ur defender back as the winger is coming towards you and then time ur tackle so u dont get caught in no mans land.

I take it you mean against and actual person.

Well i'd make my defence if it's a back 4 all Centre Backs and no Side backs as they'll always be halfway up the pitch.

Or play with a midfielder or 2 who have the Covering star they'll take the position of an out of position player, so there is no cracks.

Or 3 You could man mark if it is a specific player that is doing this.

Personally, I'd play with a deep back 4 defending infront of the 18 yard box pulling in the side players a little bit more and high defence arrow, Change your backline option to C aswell that should help.

I think the positioning of your defenders is important, generally speaking, your defenders' speed is much slower than the oppoent's winger, do not use your defender to chase the winger, just controll him stand on the way on which the winger will cut inside, and wait for the chance to intercept or tackle. And i propose u to press L2 and click R2 to make your formation contract quickly.

I find that shadowing the winger is the best method down to the edge of the box and then using the R2 (PS3)/ Right trigger(xbox 360) to face your opponent and literally let your defender do the rest.

If they get the cross in then use the L1 button to select the next defender and use R2 again to move them to try and cut out the cross or close the attacker down more quickly.

i play a flat back 4 with two fullbacks and two centre halves ,on the two fullbacks on attack i put backward arrows ,this gives me a flat back 4 ,when the winger attacks i press the square button to call back my wide midfeild ,and i then jockey the winger with my full back ,but away from the 18 yard box ,usually this enough to make him pass or run in feild if he keeps on going ,and my wide midfeild isnt on him i tackle him by moving my fullback without using R1 and pressing X this usually times the tackle but if my midfeild man is giving him pressure i just jockey him untill he goes to turn this way i win the ball ,maybe at the expense of a corner or a throw in .i find its best not to use the team pressure button for any other scenario than this as it pulls players from their designated posistion
