For me the best way to edit your team tactically was PES 2009 and before, when you can edit what direction your player will attack and will defend with some arrows.
Then it changed for PES 2010 and now we had the cards, that can only be set ON or OFF, but not the direction, but was good.

But now I can't find anything like that on PES 2011.
How can I adjust a player, or edit what he is going to do?

I can't set arrows to tell him where to move: I cannot even set the cards ON or OFF. Or Offensive, Defensive, as in 2010.

Or there is a way to do it that I have not discovered?

When I choose player Menu the only things that I can do is edit the position, make him captain , or the marking.

:erm:

No more turning cards on or off.

The player you sign, is the player you get. If he is an attacking player, he will attack.

It's rubbish, but it adds a team building element in the game. If you want your team to play a certain way, you have got to sign the right players, not the best players, but even then it makes no difference.

That's absolutely rubbish to be honest. If you play, let's say Barcelona and you need to win two nil to qualify, and you score the second goal at the 80th minute Daniel Alves is not gonna just run past Messi to overlap
anymore. Nor will Piqué come up deep like he likes to during the game.

If you are playing down the left with your fullback, no matter how attacking your team is the right full back always stays back to provide cover for the defense, not comes down the right leaving your two defenders adrift.

Konami fucked up, no excuse.

I agree with the players overlapping thing. This frustrates me to no end when so many times I spot a player in a good position to make a run, most of the times by the time I cross the ball or through ball it to the player he has already run backwards so the ball ends up going to no one. There should be an option in the tactics to make at least your wide players overlap each other, this is a fundamental part of tactics in football.

However I have seen Pique making runs forward many times. Barca's tactics by default have CB overlap in the last quarter of the game if they are drawing or trailing. It's almost always Pique that does the overlapping as well.
