help with system/buying new vid card

I need help making my game run smoother, faster, clearer, whatever. The game runs fine for a while but as I keep playing more it will eventually start being choppy and really slow. This happens when I play other games too like Counter-Strike, my FPS will be at 100 and as I keep playing it'll drop down to something like 40. I'm pretty sure this is because I need a new video card, because well, my current vid card sucks balls.

my system specs:

LAPTOP
intel pentium M 1.7 ghz
512 mb ram
50 gb hd
intel 82852/82855 gm/gme graphics card (64 mb mem)

as you can see, its most likely my crappy vid card, so i waswondering what vid card I should buy that would give me good performance but at an affordable price. I don't have a lot of money to spend so if you guys could offer up some suggestions i'd really appreciate it, cause then i could prob search on ebay for a good bargain :) thanks.

*Edit: also, hows the Logitech Dual Action Gamepad? been thinking of buying it just thought I'd get some reviews on it first though.

okay what the hell i was talking to some live chat thing with my laptop manufacturer (Gateway) and I asked what upgrades are available for my video carrd and he says your video card was not meant to be upgraded and removed. what a fucking crock. why would you put a crappy video card in and not have the capability for it to be upgraded. amazing really. i think i am going to try anyways, or open up my laptop and see whats the deal.

i guess this is because of it being an integrated video processor or whatever. seeing as though an integrated gpu borrows the ram from the cpu do you think having more ram will make it faster or is it useless?

If I were you I'd search for this subject on the internet. You'll get much more technical, informative answers than anyone here could give you.

so i guess integrated video card has screwed me over. all i can do is upgrade ram, but im wondering if this will even help.

on the other hand, i was thinking of buying a controller for the game becuase i use my keyboard which is getting a bit boring nowadays. im thinking of buying the xbox 360 controller, anyone have it? and does it come with a usb adapter or whatver?

your motherboard in the laptop won't be compatible with a new video card so forget it , only way to get better performances is to buy a new computer.
