HELPFUL!: The Stadium changes the speed. Here's the rundown!

OK I've played PES 4 all night pretty much up until a few moments ago. After hearing the statement about the stadium having an effect on the speed of the gameplay, I decided to look into it. This may be a total load of bollocks but it's what I think.

Speed KEY:

* = Slow pace, great for a quality passing / teamwork game

** = Slightly faster, certainly my favourite gameplay speed of the lot.
The most realistic IMO, allows swift attacks built from excellent
teamwork.

*** = Similar to 3, a few animations look a little rushed and take away
some realism

**** = Starting to get too quick now, good for dribbling and making quick
attacks, passing is more dificult because of the pace of the ball.

***** = Getting a little silly now, que the Benny Hill theme for the duration
of the match

****** = Simply too fast. Looks silly, looks like the double speed feature
bought from the PES Shop in PES 3. Looks like the players are
having little spasms when thet move.

PLEASE NOTE THESE ARE NOTHING TO DO WITH THE DIFFICULTY STAR SETTINGS!

Here are the stadiums and the star rating I have given them according to the key above:

Lombardi Colosseum =**
Catalonia Stadium =**(my favourite gameplay ground)
North-East Stadium =***
Orange Arena =***
Bayern Stadium =****
Monaco Stadium =**
Trad-Brick Stadium =****
Nakhon Ratchasima =******
Estadio Gran Chaco =**
Cuito Cuanavale =***WORST LOOKING PITCH ON GAME!
Amerigo Atlantis =****
Old Lady Stadium (lol) =*****
Cesar Stadium =**
Emelia Stadium =**
Blue Bridge Stadium =*
Red Cauldron =***
Lutecia Park =***
Massillia Stadium =*
Borussa Stadium =**HORRIBLE PITCH
Stockholm Arena =***
Magpie Park =**
Rotterdam Stadion =***
Kanji Dome =**
Dietro Monte Stadium =**
Porto Folio =**
Queensland Park =**** looks like someone puked in the centre circle
Haze Hills =***

PHEW! That took ages! I hope this helps. I also hope that I'm right as I didn't use the same weather or season, this may have an effect on it, but I had it set on random, (which I now regret). I'm sure that the teams may have something to do with it too. I played random oppositions. I was always England. Could someone please check some of these out and compare their results with mine? It got very difficult towards the end as I was so used to the different speeds of gameplay!

Hopefully we got more ** fields than ****** .^^
And yes its so true, depends in the grass the pace of the game.
So i guess ****** must be artificial grass .:SSSS

a bit off topic but is anyone else dissapointed by the pitches. Most of them seem to have jaggedy edges ( the light green going over to dark green) that werent present in PES3. Has anyone ever watched a game ( real) that you see those marks? Offcourse not, it because of the way the grass is mown. Cant believe they got that wrong.

Cuito Cuanavale =***WORST LOOKING PITCH ON GAME!

Is that the one with the yellow/green ugly horizontal stripes going across it?

People keep playing against me with it as their ground in my ML and I hate it, I played Norwich and could hardly see them without straining my eyes. I need to take it off everyone who has it as their ground but I havn't the patience...maybe tonight

so the pitch you play on affects the speed of the play ,yet another excellant pes 4 feature :D
(i wonder why no magazine reviewers picked up up on this)

not to be taken seriously
The question now is, does the time of day, wind speed/direction and temperature that comes up on the right hand side of the screen at the start of a match, have a massive effect on the ball movement/pitch, or is it just for show ?

ive read that only the rain has an effect on the gameplay out of the weather conditions

the more I play the game, the more I'm beginning to think that it may well be random...
has anyone looked into how the weather/season/time of day effects the game?

I have played numerous games in the wet and on many occasions the keeper has spilled the ball or turned it round the post.

There is definately some factors affecting speed, cos it doesnt feel the same speed overall all the time with each match. It does go up and down. Dunno bout the pitches, but I did think about that.

Well Konami DID in fact exploit the fact that "as a feature" certain pitches would feel faster/slower and have different effects on the ball. It's just that they didn't tell us they'd make the ball float in the air like that ;)
