How can the developers improve PES2009

I think the main thing konami need to improve on is listening to its huge fan base, even if they have to make polls on the official website asking players what sorts of things they want us to see included in the future games, at the end of the day, i think we are the ones that know what we're talking about so they need to eat some humble pie, amybe take it back to the drawing board & encorporate what we actually want.
The same probably goes for FIFA in that respect too.

there should also be a stat for someone's ability to read the game, for example, some defenders don't have much pace (Cannavaro, Maldini) but their ability to read what's happening on the pitch well and truly makes up for it and makes them stand out as defenders.

does anyone else think the shooting is a bit weird on PES 09? The flight of the ball I mean. It seems to float through the air even when u want to smash it

When they got injuried. they are only sitting there. should not a doctor come and help him. konami should fix that. sorry for my bad english

I created this thread because I've been reading a lot vague, general posts that PES2009 has room for improvement. Therefore, I am creating this thread to get an idea of what exactly improvements should be patched in the retail version of PES 2009.

If for some reason the retail version includes the suggestion it would be checked off. However, after playing the demo what areas of improvement would you like to see in a patch that may or may not be included in the retail version of PES 2009?

Areas that can be improved in PES2009 in a future patch
  • slider to reduce the sound effects for kicking the ball
  • preference for better ball contact effects
  • have all the appropriate licenses
  • ML should use real currency
  • New spokes person on cover of game
  • AI perform more dribbling tricks/techniques
  • Improved system of Stats and Special Abilities:
    .....Short/Long Pass Accuracy
    .....Passing Range (Vision)
  • Show stats of defenders reading what's happening on the pitch
  • Better Commentaries
  • Tuck & Un-tucked shirts Option
  • Grass/dirt stains on the shorts after slide tackles
  • Make changes to goal keepers gloves

Here we go, a simple starter. The list can be updated but that depends on what's posted.

When they not can fix premier league license. Why cant they fix like under division for like la liga or maybe serie a. or they can get brazilian league or else agrentian league. sorry for my bad english again.

i dont mean strecher. ive seen it to. but im mean the sideline. why cant they get injuried somewhere else. not just the leg.

in a real match they have a kind of spray. it gets cold. kylarsprej. the doctor sprays that on the injuries player. or maybe massages his leg or ass.

10v10 online, or something close! I'm furious they've left this out. It's the future, and there's no excuse for it not being included.

I've heard you can only do 2v2 online. How's that going to work with "legend" online, it'll be shit. As a big fan of playing "fix" mode on Pro Evo for the last 4-5 years, you need at least 4 human controlled players to make it decent (4-3-3 formation with front 3 and central mid controlled by humans). :realmad:

I've hated Fifa ever since it was first created, but right now i'm tempted to get it for its online modes. I live in the USA now and all my mates who i played Pro Evo with are in England, so online is now the most important aspect. This is a shit dilemna because the Fifa demo sucks balls and i couldn't imagine playing it full time instead of PES. What to do?

Have konami ever admitted that they visit forums like these to find out what people want, i'm sure they must do cause it's unproffesional to not listen to the people who buy the games... And yet, theres so many little details that people continously pray for and it's never implemented!

delayed fouls.

Something that was in PES6, when a foul warrants a booking but the attacking remain in possesion then the ref should play on but book the player when the ball finally goes out of play.

This is something that Konami; for what ever reason, seem to have taken out of the last 2 games.

Another thing they seemed to have dropped is bandages on players returning to the field after an injury, and dirt on shorts etc.

the ability to unstuck shirts would be good as it makes the player models look more realistic.

vision = what you can see as the player.

unless you play auto passing or some crap like that. the game shouldn't have to pick the passes out for you. longrange pass/shortpass + speed + accuracy pretty much shows the range of a player who can pull of specific passes.

what the game needs is more indepth master league in terms of maybe training a players fitness, the commentary matching a similar situation to what your teams in (very complex), maybe investments in scouting so that ur young potential page shows more than 30 whatever players. altho i stress i dont want it like FIFA wheres its all about investments and having tonnes of cash.

i prefer ML style of gameovr + points cos lets face it... FIFA/PES will probably NEVER get realistic transfer prices with real money... leave that to football manager 2009.

No, that's a common mistake, but a mistake nevertheless..

A player's Passing Range is very easy to accomplish, the PES series does Not haves enough stats for it -and- it shouldn't be "fixed" by simply introducing a Stat for "Vision" or Passing Range.

Simple, scratch the Old; Short Passing Accuracy, Short Passing Speed, Long Pass Accuracy, and Long Pass Speed -replace them with- Short Ground Pass, Long Ground Pass, Lobbed Short Pass (chipped pass), Lobbed Long Pass, and Passing Technique.

That's pretty much problem Solved, players with great passing Range will have good "Short Ground Passing" and "Long Ground Passing" ability -whereas- strikers such as Romario who was very good with Intricate Short Ground Passes -but- you never saw him creating Plays from Deep Positions a-lo-Riquelme-Valderrama-Pirlo.

A player such as Romario would have a great "Short Ground Passing" skill, but an average "Long Ground Passing" skill. Therefore he is a player with good passing ability -but- average Passing Range.

New Passing Stats, if used Properly, would introduce "Realistic Restrictions" into an already decent game.

Bottom Line?? The current set of Stats and Special Abilities CANNOT establish this Fundamental Differences. A player's Passing Range is non-existent, and without it, How do you Differentiate Del Piero from Riquelme?

agree with you on the passing as there does not seem to be as much depth as there could be. I don't see why the x button cant be used for manual passing

Completely Agree.. a "Defensive Awareness" Stat could do the job, my Opinion is that Tactical Abilities should be Stats -just- like Dribbling is a Stat.

And considering that Konami actually Knows how to work with Stats.. considering that Stats actually reflect In the Gameplay, I think Konami should keep Elaborating on that approach and come up with a Next Gen system for Stats and Special Abilities.

That is something that Konami does much better than EA Sports.

You can say FIFA haves the better Animations -but- PES has always been better in Differencing Players, you can really "Feel" the Differences between players -whereas- in FIFA every player feels almost Identical.

I think Konami should work on reflecting More Stats in the Gameplay, their game would Improve a lot if they did so.

Stats will be the Foundation of "great" Next Gen Football Sims, there's no doubt in my mind.

how about crowd cheering? is it so hard to record crowd singing you'll never walk alone for instance? that is a big factor in football in general.
