how do I make an .iso for mac? (have .nrg now)

alright I have the patched game in a folder on my mac desktop with a dvd burner
how do I create an .iso and burn it?*
toast creates .toast files and they don't work..I just need a program or a method using disc utility..I know people have done it before
come on guys..I've been trying to pimp out my game with classicos 2004 for months and now I finally did it, but I can't burn it
faraway! so close
help a brother out

*I have virtual pc (that's what I used to patch it) but it doesn't read the dvd writer..so no dice with nero

hmm, if I can create a folder's contents into an iso without a dvd burner on the virtual pc with dvd decrypter I might just be in business
I'll definitely give it a try

You should do a search for Gumby. I don't know if it handles ISOs but it's the best tool to patch with on a Mac. Saves using Virtual PC.

good band
uh, I got it patched already but I'll try and see if I could rip it again and patch and burn using gumby
I sorta took a break cos it was stressful after trying to do it unsuccesfully all weekend
one of my friends gave me a lead to try making an image from the folder using disc utility, but I must be doing something wrong because it makes the dmg like 6gigs by making an image of every file in the folder as well :s gotta turn that option off somehow

alrite, update
my cousin who is good with nero helped me make a .nrg image out of my we7patched folder
can I burn that with toast or do I have to somehow convert it to an .iso first?
any idea how to convert .nrg to .iso?
I'm getting closer!
thanks

I used magic iso to make the we7.iso :D
though I tried a few different ways of burning it and ended up wasting expensive 4 dvd-r's (3 on toast and one with disc utility)
so now all I need to know is how do I burn the .iso on my mac???

There must be some mac users that can help guest501 on here surely? I cannot help due to being mac-illiterate but something as simple as burning an ISO cannot be that difficult.

I hate to see someone get so far and then fall at the final hurdle;)

give me the full details and I may be able to help, so you have a .iso file and you need to burn it to disk? or you actually need to make a folder into a .iso

I have the file we7patched.iso

I tried burning a few ways in toast but with no success
and I tried burning the image with disc utility which also didn't work
I copy games directly with toast all the time..but I can't figure out how to burn a playable image

normally with toast if I want to burn an .iso I > open toast >click the copy tab > choose image file on the left side of the window > click select > uncheck auto select format at the bottom of the window before you find your .iso > click burn.

not sure if this is how your doing it but that always works for me.

using toast 6.0.7 under os 10.3.6

yeah I figured it'd be something to do with toast settings
I'll give this a try just as soon as I get home
thanks

no dice :(
do I have to do anything to the recorder settings? like turn off close disc for example..anyone that knows nero, those setting might help
also, it asked me something about a pre/post gap and sector size before burning..I just clicked ok
I'll try patching it again in the meantime I guess..just to make sure

How did you create the iso & what happens with toast, i.e does it burn it to disk ok or does it come up with an error, what is the .iso disk being used for, ps2, xbox, pc?

I downloaded virtual pc and patched the files
then I created an iso out of the we7i patched folder with 'magiciso'
I dragged it onto my osx desktop and tried to burn with toast
it's a ps2 game and it completes every time..it just doesn't go anywhere in the ps2
if I fucked up the patch..wouldn't it at least load?
I'm thinking it's still a problem with the burning of the .iso itself

Hope This Helps

Stay in Mac. Create an Iso in either toast or Disk Util. Then apply all your patches with gumby. Then, burn with toast (ISO file). Seems to me your doing a lot of extra work. Only should be deeling with 1 file (the iso) and then however many .ppf files your adding. No need for Virtual PC, unless you use ISO buster to make an ISO file, then import it into mac osx, then apply patches. Let me know details....I want to help. I only use Virtual PC for x-port..everything else i have done on my mac. It sucks at first, I wasted many disks. Stick with it, it gets easier.
