do i have to qualify outside the top 6 in the division or do i finish 3rd in the european championship group stages and then get drafted into the masters cup...??

i need to win it to unlock the hidden players

You can check up the rules and/or info (How to Qualify) about the Masters Cup in PES.

Usually found in the Information pages somewhere in the Master League interface (I have yet to play Master League so I dont know if the interface is the same as BAL)

in the first season in the european championship, get through the first group stage, but get knocked out the second one and you'll be drafted into a uefa cup style event

there is no second one, it goes straight to the knockout stages :-s
