How do I volley?

Earlier today I played a match and I booted the ball up field, and Del Piero was running towards their area and it was going to drop to him. I though 'if I first time volley this it was be spectacular'. I held down square and to my dismany he put a weak header on it from outside the area. I also went for a Mendieta type volley from a corner played to the outside of the area, but instead the unmarked Nedved put a poor header on it - same story.

When the ball is dropping to a player, how can I lash a volley onto it instead of a header?

when the ball is dropping to my player i wait to the last second to take a shot on a volley wait for the ball to drop the latest as possible usually works for me

You can move your player while the ball is in the air! Hold down R2 and the directional buttons/stick to move them. This enables you to move the player around to a position that allows you to strike the ball on the volley rather than head it...

Why?? What is the problem with the volleys? It's not that hard to perform, but sometimes you have to use the :R2: so you can position the player. This is WE remember?

Well fellas, I got the technique to work once - amazing positional play but it ended up on Rivaldo's right foot so it was skyed. Oh well.

lol oh well thats life hopefully on pes4 it will be easier to perform volleys!

I find that in pre-season training, if you do a 1/4 power corner, players will definitely try to perform volleys...maybe you can practice there! BTW....not got one in yet!!
