How good is PES5 than PES4?

The game is good, graphics superb, but the hic is that when is comes to dribbling PES4 is better than this one.. cos 4 e.g when u take the ball to left it strafes rather than rolling the ball like in PES4 and i think they must stick to the dribbling of PES4 cos its more likely to be 'real'. And about goal scoring what i like in PES5 its more difficult than in PES4.. this i like... the accuracy in PES5 is better than in PES4.. good job tho... Hope to see some improvement in the PES6...

By the way i'll try to break my records of Cisse gettin 538 goals in 5 season in PES4 in this PES5.. i think i can!!!

U CANT BEAT LFC..

EVEN IF U BEAT LFC, IT WILL STILL REMAIN THE BEST

Wow, you been playing PES4 with a passion, I only got round to playing half a season, spent most my time playing cup games and friendly's.

I am beginning to enjoy PES5. At the start I found it annoying in parts, specially the tackling, the players go down too easily for my liking. Then as I played more and more games, I adjusted my strategy. In a way its made my game better, as now I have to time the tackles better than before, however I hate the fact that I cannot do the shoulder to shoulder challenges as regularly as I could before which as we know is what the english premiership is about. Konami have a lot to learn here still. Hence I prefer PES4 in this area.

Shooting: yes I did like PES4 but that's because I got used to timing my shots to a tee. In PES5, I have scored some cracking goals, even though many times my shots are either going high and wide or just rolling harmlessly to the goalkeeper. I believe with practice, I will grow to like it.

Diving: In PES5, the diving has increased again :( I hence don't like this one bit. PES4 it was bad but some of the dives I have seen in PES5, are atrocious.

I tell you whats more realistic ever than before, when you score an offside goal, you see the player celebrate and then the look on his face when the linemans raise his flag! One word to describe that:

Priceless!

However I wasn't happy when both Owen and Rooney were pulled up for offside goals scored, Rooney was level (IMO), lol. The joys of PES5.

Pes4>pes5

I think Konami based the foul frequency based on the players' average match time, which should be around 10minutes ~ 20 minutes. That is surely understandable, but what about the goal scoring frequency? the players are so sluggish and the unrealistic dribbling does not go with the average players' match time, it is as if Konami based it on match time over 40 minutes.. which isn't even there.

I like playing masterleague playing and simulating, my simulating team man utd, went on a 5 game draw run, the team barely averaging a goal per game. I say PES4 over PES5

Ryan are you saying a player is only called for a foul after playing 10-20 mins?? If so, this is untrue, as I have had bookings the 1st foul of the game which has been in the 1st few minutes of some of the matches I played in the beginning.

There are too many factors:

1. The referee chosen, some are stricter than others..
2. The strategy chosen.
3. The teams involved, and players.
4. Whether they were involved in previous tussles with the opposing team.

I do believe point 4 is true, just yesterday I had gerrad that should have got a foul called on him but the ref played on. You saw and animation where Gerrard was nto happy, gesturing the ref. Then a few moments later, he took the guy out, and then you saw another animation where Gerrard squared up to the player, only for the ref to push him back and book him.

What I meant was, in the previous game, PES4 there weren't that many fouls and obviously not much bookings either. However, in PES5 Konami fixed up the fouling system so the players foul more.

pes5 the refs annoy you beyond belief
It depends. Sometimes we have ourselves to blame if our players are too aggressive. If the ref gives you a quiet word, take it as a warning.
I have taken note that after one warning ,the ref will have no hesitation in flashing a yellow card for another offence by the same player.

i believe that the cpu goes down toooooo easily in pes5... well.. i guess it is more realistic if i'm playing man u... haah.. but i'm enjoying pes5 more than pes4.. it's more challenging.. the dribbling is harder to do imo.. but it's better./

Some good points.. but how I look at it, you have to go back to the drawing board and change your gaming strategy. It keeps it fresh as you have to use different tactics (i.e. make sure not to do any tackles/challenges from the sides and from behind as always is a no no). Timing your tackles is key and I am slowly getting this perfected myself :)

As always the passing game will yield best results, so far I rely on my counter attack ability and its winning me more matches than any of the other strategies. Hence I think Counter attack in PES5 is more effective than the same in PES4.

The game is a big leap from PES4 IMO. I played PES4 most frequent just before Pes5 came out , and I bet people who say Pes4 is better will regret that later. Especially cos it's simply all round more fun to play 5.

problem with PES5.. still too easy to make 90 degree turns...and the AI totally takes advantage of this. The best way to win in PES... IS NOT TO RUN TOO MUCH. Pass alot, keep posession and gradually make your way to the net:) But hey I only play on 5* and I either win or lose 1-0 so I dunno

I love the realism. I was playing a game the other day and the score was 2-2 and in stoppage time. I had the ball in the box and got fouled and you could see the player get up and shake his fist in excitement. Also, when you get caught offsides at an important time you player can get mad, usually he just swings his arms but sometimes he gets mad and sits down.
I thought the game was way too hard at first but I really love it now.

Hmm its the opposite, the game was easy before, now I find it slightly harder. PES5 is definitely stepped up compared to PES4 in terms of difficulty.
