I've been tweaking a formation for MLO that uses the typical "Big Man, Small Man" tactic upfront. I have Agbonlahor up front as the small speedy poacher, and Trezeguet playing a bit deeper as his strike partner.
However, I don't like using the Second Striker position as I find they tend to chase back an awful lot, but I like how they roam around more in attack. So if I play Trezeguet as a deep SS, he will pull himself out of position and not be quite as good overall.
Basically the formation is like this
---SS------
--------
------------CF
With the SS being at the forward most position an SS can play, and the CF being at the deepest before he turns into a midfielder. Both players are on the edges of the 12 yard box.
If I change the SS to CF, agbo loses his darting run card and has a drop in rating.
How do you guys do this? Do you play them more narrow? Who would be a good deep lying target man beside trezeguet?
I personally don't think this game does a good job at mimicking this tactic, as all the speedy poachers primary position is SS, but the way SS's are programmed, they are meant to play as a deeper, more creative forward, not as a fast poacher which most are in reality. Vice Versa for CF.
Any thoughts or comments?
