How to defend AI through balls

Big problem with defenders. They dont mark properly and always create space for the opposition to run in for those impossible-to-defend perfect through balls. Not only that but there will often be one defender who stands behind all other players allowing one or two AI players to drift into open space and run at goal.
And why can't I play those through balls when i'm attacking. triangle or L1+triangle will pass to the player that is always on either side away from goal or players that are marked. This is frustrating.

I was getting murdered by the CPU AI on through balls and I set up a man mark on the player doing damage and that forward never touched the ball the rest of the match. Move off the ball defense to cover a forward and mark him yourself would be another suggestion.

I would also have to guess that cpu through balls is part of the scripting process.

I'm glad konami toned down our through balls as they were getting rather hoarish in 2011. The cpu defense covers them well.

Put a high defensive line and if you want try putting the offside trap as it works well this year. You might be thinking this is risky but no it isn't as cf drop deeper and if anyone does ever do a thorugh ball, since you have a high defense line you can easily catch up to the attacker or make him offside. I always use this and it works better if you have a cb with responsiveness and top speed
