How to make the game more Challenging?

I'm going to start a new season with Liverpool, however I want to be sure to have the most challanging experience.
I would like to know what functions in the game that I could edit (besides ML behaviors, such as realistic transfers and so no)
will help me with my needs.

Try ML default players, it will give ya a bit of fun for about 2 seasons. Also try changing other teams sliders (might help).

What do u mean Sliders?
And about default players, am trying to avoid that, since I like to play with real players. I'm playing Liverpool for example, ans I made Torres an C injury prone player since he really is a kick ass striker but always gets injured( am Liverpool fan). And in PES he never gets injured. So I probably will have to relay on Voronin or Babel now. Also am not going to spend money on high quality players, definitely not.

I now use only players from my youth system, most of them are rubbish, which makes things challenging. Currently 8th in the league, I use to win all the time so this is much better for me. When my youth players get too good and ask for too much money, I sell them and promote another youngster.

I'm really sorry to annoy you as you've already said you want to use real players but using the default ML team with Jaric and co is the only real way to get a good run for your money. You start with RUBBISH players and all the operating costs levels are @ level one. The players cant pass (through ball especially) to save their lives. They cant hold on to the ball becuase the get knocked over easily. They take aaaaages to shoot due to low response stats so having a shot on goal can be hard (use R2 to make it snappier), they cant tackle for s*** and the defenders are VERY slow to react and makes defending very interesting. Its hard to sign any player and even the free transfer players dont want to come. You sign a nice promising player and he gets injured for a whole season because you cant afford a better team doctor. And every week you get 1 or 2 players sidelined for 2-3weeks.

If thats not challenging, i dont know what is. You can start signing real players when you've overcome this challenge. You'll be lucky or amazingly good to make it to the premier league in your first season

I imagine when you start with Liverpool you get a good tranfer kitty and good doctor and scout.

I see. Say, how do I start with default players? Like PES united or so? This is my first year with PES and I'm not exactly experienced with it.

Go to any of the Team A, Team B ...... teams and press square (or triangle) one of those will change the player list to the default ML team, it'll have names like Jaric, Ordaz, Stein, Lothar, Castolo. U can do the same with any team really but best to use an empty team.

Or cheat a little and take liverpool with default players, then try to snap up some transfer in the first few weeks... Babel, Voronin, Insua...

Or any other team, really :tongue:

COMPLETELY agree...

i start with unfamous team named Unirea, uses ML default team..
now i have 3rd season on ML, 2nd season on premier league, which is my best achieved is fnal FA and runner up on EPL...

firstly the things like bro kakonobs said above, i'ts so hard,play just with your own skill and strategy not depends with the player stats AT ALL (they all rubbish in first season but some player will growth rapidly next season)
and now i just get addicted..


PS : and if you want more CHALENGING turn ON Auto Save, so if you have draw or even lose no way back and repeat it (that's the reason i didn't managed any throphies :lol: )

Adds to the adrenaline and if you still have your beautiful television and controllers by the end of season 3 i'll applaud you for being up to the challenge. 1) heheh...i'm on PS3
2)No,it's not..
3)As long i knew, yes..that's why makes soo easy on ML if you use big teams..( i always use default team ML since PES on PS1 and 5 stars difficulty)
