Hi
I am new to PES and I am finding it really hard to win a game online, in fact I have never won a game yet.
Please could someone tell me what is the best game plan for a team to win including formation, team style, strategy and management edit.
Thanks for your support.

Formations are subjective from person to person, ideally you want to using a formation you feel most comfortable with. I tend to use the Boca Juniors default formation - a narrow 442 Diamond - and change my DMF to a 3rd Centreback to give me extra defensive cover and my second striker to a 2nd AMF. I then play long ball, for me, it works.

I don't tend to worry too much about team style or strategy as I play to 'park the bus'. I know most players are better than me so I frustrate them to beat them.

If you want win online you must bear in mind that you need to be more unpredictable with your passing, try lofted diagonal through passes from out wide, it cuts defences to pieces.

The sad truth is, that if you are new to the game, you are likely to struggle online. The online mode is usually full of people who do nothing but play the game more or less 24/7, so you take a few hidings before winning a game.

As for strategy, I tend to go with a more defensive outlook, with the theory that there are A LOT of reckless young players that just want bang bang bang action. A disciplined defensive player should beat these most of the time.

5-4-1, while seemingly boring, is a good starting point. Having three centre halves gives your fullbacks a lot more license to come forward and join in the attack without being caught short on the counter. If you want you can use a diamond midfield to give your defence that little bit extra protection, but I'd tend to stick to a flatish shape in midfield. Choose a side with fast wingers, sit back and make sure you get your defensive rhythym right, and rip em to bits on the counter attack.

all i can tell you .. that you need to keep playing and learn how to defend good.. and if you good at passing the ball fast enough trust me you will be able to eliminate the opponent or at least you wont lose the game .. but keep trying and don't forget to buy a decent players ;) good luck

A little advice

If you are having trouble winning it's because you don't practise enough and practise smart.Your passing is the key ingredient not dribbling .Master your passing and learn how to hold on to the ball as possession is another key to success in this game. Also learn how to use the through pass to shred defences. The through pass is one of the keys to my success in this game. You also need to have good vision to be able to spot your players' runs and positioning especially as you don't get to see the entire field on your screen.
Play the game as if it was a real football match with real players and get to know your players abilities so as to help you in your formation settings.

I agree with that 100%. Even more, a player like myself that has only started with 2011 and now 2012 is at a disadvantage to those players who have played PES for a 6-10yrs. I still have not won a ranking1v1 match online. Very frustrating. I almost quit for good to try FIFA online. But once I got over my hissy fit I started again. And still haven't won an online game. Now if I could only bring those friendly match wins over into my hideous online score.

Man, all i can say is that i play in PES 7 or more years... and now with PES12 i dont have soo many time to play cose of my familly..and my results are like shit!

I though i was real good but now i am looking for a new shape of my Arsenal set up and tactic.

So my first advice is - play this game like a real football. Read interviews with Wenger, Guardiola, and try to understand the game :)

Second - maybe more real advice.. - put your defence a litle bit deeper and close to each other. set up them at penalty box line or even couple of twicks deeper...
This could help. And set up your tactic as a counter atack. But remember ..at last 3 players have to join your atacks..

Good luck

Bay the way...if someone could tell me how to set up ARSENAL to be real danger in atack and having posession ... please...:)
