Is it realistic that Argentina are better than Barcelona simply because Argentina has faster players?

That's not realistic at all mate. PES11 is an arcade game, it's not realistic in any way, shape, or form. The substance of the game is clearly missing, which is why teams like Argentina, with loads of fast and skillful players, are unrealistically good, because there's no substance underneath all the passes and all the animations.

That's probably the main reason for why we have the ridiculous "defender catch up" problem, because it's the only way Konami could balance the game a little bit. The fact that teams with fast players (Real Madrid, Argentina, etc) are unrealistically good regardless of the "defender catch up" balancing act, makes me wonder how awesome such teams would be without the mentioned balancing trick.

At the end of the day. PES11 is utter shit in terms of movement without the ball, you cannot describe a footy video game as "realistic" when the movement without the ball is extremely unrealistic.

^In pes 11 speed is no way overrated. It's actually underrated because of fast players being caught by defenders. That thing you described was pes 10.

I agree that pes 11 needs improving, but speed overrated? No. It's actually slightly underrated because of the defender bug.

The thing that needs sorting to balance it out and fix the speed issue is to make defenders COVER up places and make certain players do it better than others.
IT'S THE AI positioning that needs improving and with that improved, the game will get rid of the speed bug and be much more balanced.

I agree with the movement too. It needs urgent improvements.
