Well I finally did it! I made Poland go all the way!! Difficulty was 5 starts! I found a formation which was really powerful against the big teams!
Now here is an overview:
PES 5 - Poland
WORLD CUP RESULTS
GROUP A
Germany – Poland 1-2 (0-2)
0-1 Miroslaw Szymkowiak (11.) 0-2 Andrzej Niedzielan (42.) 1-2 Gerald Asamoah (80.)
Ecuador – Poland 1-1 (1-0)
1-0 Agustin Delgado (32.) 1-1 Grzegorz Rasiak (53.)
Poland – Costa Rica 0-1 (0-1)
0-1 Ronald Gómez (82.)
I went through as second. I played an offensive formation both against Ecuador and Costa Rica. My players wasn't able to finish off those opponents, though I controlled the game. And in the end I got punished (Costa Rica match). I came through only one goal better than Costa Rica - We both had 4 points!
1/16 FINALS
Poland – England 0-0, 1-0 After Extra Time
1-0 Maciej Zurawski (100.)
QUARTER FINALS
Poland – Argentina 2-1 (2-0)
1-0 Andrzej Niedzielan (8.) 2-0 Maciej Zurawski (38.) 2-1 Hernan Crespo (60.)
SEMI-FINALS
Netherlands – Poland 1-2 (0-1)
0-1 Jacek Krzynówek (28.) 1-1 Roy Makaay (64.) 1-2 Jacek Krzynówek (69.)
FINAL
Poland – Brazil 3-1 (0-1)
0-1 Ronaldinho (41.) 1-1 Tomasz Frankowski (53.) 2-1 Tomasz Frankowski (60.) 3-1 Andrzej Niedzielan (81.)
Memorable goals were Krzynóweks freekick stunner who gave me the victory against the Netherlands, and Frankowski dribble past two brazilians to make it 2-1 in the final! And yes... also Zurawski's amazing goal against England in the extra time! Now:
SQUAD
Goalkeepers
Jerzy Dudek
Artur Boruc
Defenders
Jacek Bak
Tomasz Klos
Marcin Baszczynski
Michal Zewlakow
Mariusz Jop
Bartosz Bosacki
Arkadiusz Glowacki
Tomasz Rzasa
Midfielders
Radoslaw Sobolewski
Miroslaw Szymkowiak
Jacek Krzynówek
Ebi Smolarek
Arkadiusz Radomski
Mariusz Lewandowski
Kamil Kosowski
Bartosz Karwan
Sebastian Mila
Attackers
Tomasz Frankowski
Maciej Zurawski
Grzegorz Rasiak
Andrzej Niedzielan
Here's the Giantkiller formation!
The dots as you see one color shows the position:
Yellow: GK
Blue: DF
Green: MF
Red: SS/CF
The other shows the defensive approach:
Dark Blue: High
Light Blue: Medium
White: Low
My Team Strategy was:
Attack/Defence:
Auto Attack
Defence System:
Normal
Team Strategy:
Back Line = A
Zone Press = A
Offside Trap = C
Counter Attack = A
I also used a Semi-Auto Stratety, which was:
R Side Att. = AUTO3
L Side Att. = AUTO2
Zone Press = L2
Counter Attack = AUTO1
Now this is the first time I have ever won the WC - this time I had all the luck! I was good enough to settle the match before penalty kicks (Poland really smells there), and finally I used basically the same team - with some minor substitutes due to bad conditions!
Now what do ya all think?
