I DID IT!!! I Won the WC!!

Well I finally did it! I made Poland go all the way!! Difficulty was 5 starts! I found a formation which was really powerful against the big teams!

Now here is an overview:

I went through as second. I played an offensive formation both against Ecuador and Costa Rica. My players wasn't able to finish off those opponents, though I controlled the game. And in the end I got punished (Costa Rica match). I came through only one goal better than Costa Rica - We both had 4 points!

Memorable goals were Krzynóweks freekick stunner who gave me the victory against the Netherlands, and Frankowski dribble past two brazilians to make it 2-1 in the final! And yes... also Zurawski's amazing goal against England in the extra time! Now:

Now this is the first time I have ever won the WC - this time I had all the luck! I was good enough to settle the match before penalty kicks (Poland really smells there), and finally I used basically the same team - with some minor substitutes due to bad conditions!

Well done mate (apart from beating England)! This is what PES is all about. Realism and the commitment of the games fans. I salute Poland winning the World Cup and the fact that you shared it with us!

didn't change a single formation of the original setup
took me a retry at finals against netherlands tho :/

I tried to win the world cup with Wales on 5* managing to come out of a tough group but kept getting knocked out by Cameroon in the QF. It almost seemed impossible to win that match so I tried playing it 6 times and eventually got lucky on penalties after a few matches of cpu cheating. After that match, beating Holland and Italy was easy, strangely.

A couple of days ago I tried again England and found it tough.
Lost to China 0-1, drew 1-1 with Paraguay and beat Sweden 1-0. All 4 teams finished level with an identical record of
P3 W1 D1 L1 GF2 GA2 GD0 4pts and England finished top somehow and there seemed no logic between who qualified and who didn't. Strange.

yesterday i won the world cup with england on 6 stars. After having many restarts against trinidad and tobago (losing 1-0 as the computer kept making my players rubbish and i couldn NOT score) i tried again with a 4 3 3 formation and beat everyone including brazil in the final and only conceded 1 goal. Was i lucky or my players were on form or what? The game is strange somtimes as i can play as england and get a 0 - 0 draw against latvia, but they play italy and beat em 3 - 0. same team, same players just random outcomes sometimes.

Stephen753 I agree, there is some degree of randomness in how the teams play. Can't explain it and it just seems to be random.

Well I just got PES5 so I only play on 3* :laugh:

Quite a few people say that 3* may actually be harder than 5* as the CPU tends to defend better on 3* compared to 5* where it attacks more and leaves more gaps. Have a go on 5* to see which you think is more difficult.

How did you play Trinidad and Tobago??? They are not in the game!

I saw this thread this morning and thought to myself hmm I'll give it a go. I hadn't tried winning the WC yet. So I went with 6 stars 10 minutes and I picked USA. Not sure really why I picked them, there not good but yet not shit and I like their kits. I'll keep it short, got to the semi's where I lost to france. Beat teams classic Italy, Italy and classic argentina. Didn't want the classics to be in there but I just did random.

I used to play as them in PES1 I think it was. Beating Germany 5-1 on 5 star was the highlight of my PES1 career!

Tried it with Serbia & Montenegro a couple of days ago but got knocked out in the semi's against Holland.

Results:
Serbia 0-0 Brazil
Serbia 0-0 Uruguay
Serbia 1-0 Italy

I came second in the group behind brazil, who dropped their only points against moi.

1st round
Serbia 2-0 Cameroon.

QF
Serbia 0-0 Germany (0-0 AET won 4-2 on pens)

SF
Serbia 0-0 Holland (0-0 AET lost 4-2 on pens) I was distraught, i dominated. Hit the post 3 times, and they ended up only having 2 shots on goal for the entire 120mins.

Still, quite pleased to get the semis having only scored 3 goals, all with kezman.

you would think winning the asia cup on 6* would be a challenge and it was for me. I was south korea and i battled through the tiny tournement itself but in the final i faced Japan - a test of my skills

5-1 and i was jumping all over the place... i only ever do this when i win a competition with liverpool but for some reason i did with sk

I'am trying to win with poland right now. So far i tied Ecuador 1-1. They scored in the last 5mins of the game.

I beat Germany in fixture 2. The score was 1-0. It was on a PK in the 8th minute. I controlled the game but that probably because i had the early lead.

Then i played Costa Rica in fixture 3 and it was a 0-0 tie. They out played me. I couldnt get anything thing going. I was lucky to get a tie.

I won my group and i only had 5 points. Germany came in 2nd with 4 points.

I had to play Brazil in my next game. Australia went 3-0 and won the group so i knew i was done.

I lost to Brazil 1-0 on a goal in the 1st 15 minutes of the game. It was close though. I hit the post on header off a corner kick. It was my best opportunity.
