I have had my last straw with PES '16!

I do apologize guys. I'm a person who doesn't like to complain, especially over video games or games I love.

But this is too frustrating and I've had the last straw.

Every time I come up against the big / best teams, for the entire match, every where on the pitch, I get kicked down, chopped down, slide tackled from behind, in front or the side, NO FOUL, NO FOUL, NO FOUL! (Just played Barcelona and then Juventus & this happened for the entire match & have yet to even win one Penalty Kick since playing PES 2016)

I AM SICK OF IT!

No matter how much I out pass them or play quickly and have such speedy / strong players, they still double team, shove me off the ball, chop me down for the entire match!

I can live with A.I. always getting cheesy goals, rebounds, deflections, booming unrealistic 50-70 yard long balls up field find their man perfectly every other time, or holding off / dribbling off 3 or 4 of your defenders etc.

But I cannot live with this dirty play from the A.I. when I have to face the big teams in the game.

Do any of you experience or have this problem too?

I am sorry but this s*** if unplayable and I am not enjoying this experience or game!

I feel like I'm at the optician's...

It's a terrible game, badly programmed, full of AI 'cheese.' That's why I traded my copy of the game after only a few days, it's just not worth the frustration. I simply refused to 'work around' the game's many flaws.

I don't blame you for breaking out the big text-... vent... it's good for you! :D

I actually won an away Champions League game with Ajax against Bayern Munich at top player level. 0-2, and I was very surprised haha.

But you are right, A.I. is shit. I also still have to get my first penalty and I think I've only had a handful of free kicks.

This game is a joke and it could have been so good. Missed opportunity for Konami.

Apologies for the large texts in the opening post.

As I said, I can deal with the A.I. cheesy attacking / goals.

But I cannot understand for all these years since P E S 2010 even until now 6 years later, Referees or no calling of fouls is still present and worse than ever?

I went back this afternoon and replayed the match against Juventus for the fifth or sixth time and each time, it got worse and worse!

The scripting is obvious and it is obvious I am to lose that match because every time I play or out play them, the biggest load of bullshit or deflection or rebound or most impossible one touch / sprint past 3 or 4 your defenders and they score a goal, keeps occurring.

On top of that, they kept kicking me down all game long. I blow past a defender, he tackles me from behind; my player is down injured, no foul; they boom a 50-70 yard long ball up the field which leads to a goal scoring opportunity every time.

I honestly felt like smashing my controller today! Outraged!

Honestly, not my experience (have played a season on top player and nearly finishing another on superstar). I get that about 3 or 4 matches per season, so not a big deal, since to be honest the team I'm playing as gets that about 3 or 4 times per season anyway... Maybe you're in a league with several very strong teams? I only get that against my rivals plus 1 or 2 matches in the CL... I remember I got that if I'm not mistaken in a CL match against Roma and I still managed to get through...

And I don't think I get fewer free kicks than last year, though I've only got 1 or 2 penalties in my favour so far, and maybe twice as much for the AI...

For me those moments when the AI starts passing the ball around like gods and no matter how much you slide you can't tackle them and all balls bounce to one of them and you just know what's going to happen... That's a bigger problem for me but again, don't get it that often... But when it's really blatant that it really feels like cheating I restart.

Out of curiosity, is your team spirit lower than the other team doing all that tackling? I find that's a huge factor... Just a lost a game 5-1 to PSG and realised I had a wrong tactic by mistake (attacking through the centre) which made my team spirit really low. Rectified that (team spirit back up), rematched and drew 1-1. Didn't get all that tackling in either match though, just got less scripting the second time.

I play on Superstar. Into my second season of ML with Inter Milan. Team Spirit is always 90 and above.

Finished 2nd in my first season, only lost one game, but draws killed me. Honestly, I was getting accustom to the game and starting to really love it.

But my two matches against Juventus in the first season, two against Napoli, two matches in Europa league vs. Real Madrid which I lost the tie and now being in the Champions League (tough group with big teams) and again meeting Juventus, in all these games my experience has been horrid.

Mainly with the nonstop tackling, constant chopping down and no fouls and of course the bullshit deflections or cheesy goals.

I do not want to stop playing P E S 16. But if this is what I have to put up with when facing big teams; then what's the point.

I'm going to change the difficulty to top player, play against some big teams and see what the experience is like.

Man, just had a really weird match... Playing as Benfica on superstar, CL 2nd leg semi-final against PSG, had drawn 1-1 on the 1st leg in a tough match but with balanced stats at the end. Now 2nd leg... I seriously could barely ever touch the ball. Match ended 3-0 for PSG, 75%-25% in possession (must be a new low record for me!) and 10-0 in shots! I'd never had a match like this! It was so different from 1st leg it was ridiculous. Pretty sure it's the first game this year I don't get any shots! I also couldn't even make a substitution because in the last 30 mins the match never stopped (there was 1 foul for each team)! The game had simply decided I had gone far enough in the CL and it was time to boot me out, better not even let me touch the ball just in case!

What struck me as newest this time was the dodgy ball physics! There were a couple of times that it was ridiculous! A lofted through ball by the AI that I'm sure will bounce too far ahead of the receiving player and go into the end line... instead it hits the ground on a diagonal and bounces up almost vertically WTF????? Conveniently for the player to catch it. Then the other way around, I make a through ball for my player, he and an AI player running for it, seems like it's mine but it changes speed weirdly in a way that the AI gets it! I hadn't seen this before!

Not to mention the usual scripted goals I always take, already recognise the pattern: ball bounces off something > striker > goal, or my LB/RB has the ball and plenty of space to the side of the penalty area (not being pressured), I tell him to pass to a teammate ahead and he passes to the AI > through ball > goal.

I don't get worked up about this game anymore but honestly, I'm tired. Will play the remaining 2 matches to finish the season and I'm done with PES 2016, will give FIFA a go. Maybe I'm being fooled but I watched a few youtube matches and it looked so much more realistic than PES, much more like a real match on TV...

And, most importantly, I checked the FIFA stats of the Benfica players and they all make sense, they are very accurate, so I'll actually play with a realistic line up! PES is all over the place, stats, positions, all a mess! I end up not enjoying it so much because I sell half my team for having ridiculously underrated stats (except for 1 or 2 players that have stats too high, which is also stupid). So I buy a bunch of new players to make up for their mess and in the end it's not Benfica anymore... F*** this!

I moved to PES because I got tired of FIFA's scripting, now I get it here too... If I'll get it on both, might as well play the one with the licences and accurate stats!

EDIT: come to think of it, after reading the FIFA forums I think I'll just get Fallout or something like that.

I haven't come across Real or Barça this year, but last year they were the ONLY teams that I could see massive scripting in their favour every single time. I have a feeling I got it with Juventus this year too but not sure...

In the Portuguese league there's only 3 really strong teams, so as Benfica I only noticed scripting against Porto and especially Sporting (both rivals), and after playing in the CL even if my players weren't tired, I'd often strangely draw...

I think matches against strong teams feel much fairer in Top Player, in that you still see the scripting, but after it they miss much more often. The problem is games against all other teams feel too easy! There's too much of a gap in this game between the weak and the strong teams...

Maybe the solution is to play on Top Player against a few select top teams and on Superstar against all others. Maybe that will actually make it feel right... Which is stupid!

Thank you for your advice.

It's a shame what we have to do, to try and make this game work. From all the trouble of Editing Premier League kits, creating missing players, fixing incomplete transfers, adjusting the game speed etc.

You're right about the disparity between big teams / mid-table and small teams. If I do bump the difficulty down to Top Player; I'll use a small team, which I always do in any Footy game because using Big Teams is no challenge or Joy for me.

I get pretty much fouls against superstar, key is to almost never use sprint button for more the one touch, and never use it in close situations, to get a foul change slightly direction when com starts to close you down or gets in contact, play defense like maniac in his half with pressing sliding and double team all time, and without sprint button when near com. When on your half play whitout sprint as often as you can and start whitout holding a direction, just hold x or circle. That's the best I can do, it works for me and whithout bragging I can beat real Madrid with 5 goals playing with Banfield (Argentina). I can upload videos if you don't believe me.

This^^^ All this is true. This is how I get a decent number of fouls in my favour, and how I manage to SOMETIMES counter scripting while defending: get as many players behind the ball as possible when the AI gets possession, press back back back, try not to charge, try not to run. Move sideways to block lines of passing or just stand in their way and often the AI will screw up by themselves.

I did that in my first season in Top Player, played as Belenenses. Still won the league, which Belenenses hasn't done since the 40s
Thing is, after I bought a few players the team became much stronger... then because some of my players were doing so well, I got some insane offers for them, and that allowed me to buy even more great players mid-season... so first half I finished maybe 3rd or so (which is not super realistic but could happen, they get top 6 sometimes), but by the end with all these players I won too easily.

Now 2nd season in superstar as Benfica I won the league (6 points clear with 2 matches to go), got to semis in CL and the cup, and also lost the supercup. In the end, results are realistic (except for the too good campaign in the CL)... the problem is not how much you lose, it's that when you do it feels underhanded, the way the game does it with scripting and all that... It doesn't feel like you lost because the other team was better, but because the game decided you were going to get booted and the few minutes pushing buttons are just a formality...

Certain (kids/casual) FIFA players are complaining because the game is the closest it has ever been to encompassing simulation-like gameplay! You say that EA (Sports) have 'lost the plot this year', but I would say that it was about time that they catered towards players who don't want ping-pong, million miles-an-hour unrealistic gameplay!

This is a weird year, PES is more like how FIFA used to be: (crazy scorelines etc.), and FIFA is more like how PES used to be: slower, with realistic match results.

I am very happy indeed with this year's edition of FIFA, and am very disappointed with Konami's lacklustre effort.

I'm into my third season of Career Mode- if you take the time to issue player instructions, alter formations and tactics, it's a really good game. Full manual settings give you so much more freedom and and make it far more challenging.

People can say what they like but authenticity does play a massive role where the enjoyment factor comes into play. When I played PES 3 to 6 on the PC, I was was forever downloading/utilising fan-made modifications to the game, it really did make a big overall difference to the immersion factor of the whole gameplay experience.

The fact that so many people downloaded and used the modifications (kits/stadiums/boots/footballs/leagues etc.) shows that people really do want authenticity, despite what Bhatti says! / -:

Go about it right or left..Top player, Super star, Galatic Star, do this do that blah blah blah....the topic starter is right on point. ESPECIALLY SINCE THIS ISSUE HAS BEEN THE TOPIC OF DISCUSSION FOR THE LAST 6 YRS. Konami doesn't give shit about this because THEY DON'T WANT TO SPENT CASH ON DEVELOPMENT..It's cheaper to buy off some influential magazines/websites than invest in the game.

Besides the refs being atrocious how about:

(Advanced)Through balls
Goalies
Predictable AI build up play
Player REACTION TIME to Shot/ pass guage <-- Biggest Irritation 4 me
Ball control..ball bounces off you like you're made of rubber

Most off these things are "broken"for years, but KONAMI doesn't seem to care.
Been waiting for 2K to fill this void for years..too bad they don't give soccer a priority.

Simply put; calling PES2016 the best footy game ever is f*cking bullshit..

The 'King' is DEAD.

The sad thing is that people will defend Konami's bullsh!t with their last breath. I firmly believe that the reviews from the big websites are bought and paid for, and it would take a complete and utter brainwashed fanboy not to call out Konami for the crap goalkeeping- which absolutely spoils the game (as far as I'm concerned). I played the demo again yesterday, and there was hardly any point in having goalkeepers- I played with manual shooting/no pass assistance (both Professional and Top Player levels).

I kept scoring easy goals (and so did the CPU), no sense of achievement like there used to be with the classic PES series (3 to 6).

How on earth have they not fixed the poor goalkeeping by now (retail edition)(?)- they obviously don't give a toss about their customers. As long as people keep on defending them, Konami will keep on not giving a sh!t! You're right about certain aspects of the game that are 'broken', it isn't too far off being an Arcade game- which is quite appropriate really as Konami used to produce a lot of arcade games in the 1980s/'90s! It all went downhill with PES 2008, but I actually enjoyed PES 2013 (Even there were certain issues with aspects of the gameplay)- the Fox Engine (PES 2014 onwards) is the biggest load of hype- typical of Konami these days! I didn't even like last year's PES to be perfectly honest.

Look at 2K Sports, they've patched this year's basketball game three times already, and have implemented many modifications to fix various issues. I've read that publishers no longer need to pay Sony and Microsoft to submit patches, so Konami don't even have that excuse any more. Konami are a bullsh!t, mickey mouse company, with a bullsh!tting, mickey mouse Product Manager!!

Yeah, that's what annoys me the most, all of the lies about how brilliant this game is supposed to be (especially from the likes of IGN etc.) No... what annoys me the most is Konami's 'couldn't-care-less' attitude! F--- 'em!

I wonder if paid reviewers even play the game more than once or twice, and even then they probably know more about FPS games than sport games! Either way, they get paid for giving fake reviews:

"The King is Back" (yet again)- 11/10! Three Thumbs Up (The reviewer's arse)!

(Yeah, eleven out of ten: "Makes FIFA look like Atari Pong!!!!11111!!11!!!!!1" etc. etc.)

I second that, 2k will save the football game, I mean look at NFL, MLB, NBA all incredible games then Fifa and Pes lag so far behind....I will say that offline this pes is still amazing to me, but online its honestly worse for me than 2012 or 2013 and they were torrid IMO.

Im currently playing the el clasico tourney and have entered about 10 times....got to the second round about 5 times and never stood a chance in any of those 5 because of how c**tnami have decided to blacklist my account...

Konami have thrown away the golden ticket this year, its only November but theyve already lost me unless this game improves vastly.
