Hi everyone,

Right, I have been an avid fan of Pro evo since the Days of International Superstar Soccer, and iv'e bought it every year except this one. In which I bought FIFA 09 because the demo looked good, and I was disapointed with Pro evo last year. The online was terrible and nothing had changed. I'm a big fan of the master league and enjoy building my team up and getting to the top. The only problem for me last year and the last few years is that im so familair with how to play pro evo and how to pass it past defenders and take them on, that it doesn't take me very long to stuff teams about 6-0 on the hardest setting.

FIfa 09 is pretty good but i'm left wondering if this Pro evo is a lot better than last years. Is the online fixed? Is the master league more in depth? Whats 'be a legend' like? And are there any new cutscenes/Graphics any better?

I appreciate that it's a bit chunky to read but your opinions will sway my vote whether to trade in the quite good fifa, in order to take a gamble on my beloved Pro evo.

fifa may be worth a gander for a short time but will become boring, PES wont, its just better.

I've tried both PES09 and FIFA09...

But, really, its down to you. I never listen to anyone about games. I make my own choices. If the game sucks, then it sucks. If not, its better for me. Most of the time when people write a bad review, its because they have had a problem with the game in the past and therefore don't want others buying it.

You have the demo out for both PES09 and FIFA09. The PES demo is no different to the game. So if you like the demo, buy the game.

I personally can't get into FIFA, but that's just me. I prefer to work hard and put in the effort, so PES suits my needs.

BTW, I have PES09 and I'm enjoying every second. Nothing like PES08.

I am a big fan of pes but switched to Fifa last year cause pes 2008 was so bad.
This year having tried both games i opted for pes 2009.
Firstly most of the faults from 2008 are no longer in the game, and i'm get to find an actual fault so far.(although there must be some)
In fairness Master league mode is pretty much the same as before, as are the cups/leagues.
However the champions league mode is new, whilst become a legend is really good, and in my opinion just as good as be a pro.
Graphically pes looks really good, and the players look like their real life counterparts, whilst the 19 stadiums all look polished.
I think gameplay is better in pes but it's personal opinion so i'd say play pes demo if possible as you may be surprised at the improvement since last year

i've been a die hard since the snes

i'll give you an honest opinion

fifas better this year, for a full package of onlin play and offline, yes its a tad slow, dribbling past a player is nigh on impossible, but the game feels solid, the players are solid.

pro evos online options are pitiful, the gameplays arcadey and a mess really, its un-responsive and thers something not right with the tackling

its only 27 quid from asda so its worth a buy

Online is a laggy mess for ME but most others I've spoken to say it's excellent this year. B.A.L is incredibly addictive and superior to B.A.P in my opinion. I dont know WHAT hazey is talking about saying PES is arcadey, the tempo of the game is much slower than last year and it is one of the very best PES experiences to date.

It has also been tweaked from the demo build and it superior to the demo in a few areas.

Well you wanted honest and this man lied.

On a serious note there is no such thing as a right and a wrong opinion and it dosen't matter what people think of the game, its what you want out of your gaming experience.

If you want a challenge, fluid gameplay and all round realistic football, not to mention the beautifull graphics, then PES 2009 is for you.

If you want fun easy quick game play that you can play one or two matches and then put it away for a week, with added licenses, then Fifa is for you.

To summaries Fifa is a good game, i will give credit where it is due.

But for longevity and fluid gameplay PEs is a GREAT game.

but you shouldn't be influenced by others, others opinions should just all add up for you to finally make your overall decision...i hope i helped

Never played Pro on FIFA, but Become a legend is great fun. Don't expect to get into the first team straight off, it will take training matches and time, which most people don't understand then start crying on these forums.

Online is a great improvement. I haven't played a laggy game yet. This is maybe because I stick to my country when playing games. But you have a light and a football next to the player name now.

Light-
Green/Good connection
Yellow/Average connection
Red/Bad connection

The football tells you if the player is a quitter which is great to know. The flatter the football gets next to that players name, the more likely he will quit when losing.

pro evo does feel arcadey, the players do run like they've shat themselves
fifa is slow and is shit at dribbling
pro evo is good at dribbling
fifa is good at tackling
both games are good in ther own right and shit wen ther shit

all i was saying that for the game that offers more its got to be fifa in my opinion :lol:

The new pro is nothing like pro 08..
It seems like a lot of people have switched to buying fifa because pro had 1 bad game..
Pes 08 was a big dissapoitment though..
Pes 09 though .. its totally different nothing similar..
Ive been playin the new become a legend .. i love it..
First I thought id get a bit bored of it coz you only control one player but its amazing !
Ive always liked pro better , i get bored of the fifa so quick and easy .. ive never bought one i always lend it off my mate down the road ;]

But , in my opinion .. TRADE IN FIFA AND GET PRO !
Seriously i got pes around ... 7 o clock on friday ( PM ) and me and my brother wer playing online ( oh yeah the lag online is alot better ... still a bit but theyll sort that out .. ) and the champs league mode together all night .. started my become a legend saturday, been playin that loads, and today ..

Im prob biased towards to pro but PES OWNS FIFA !
So yeah .. get pro ; ]

pro evo hasnt had just one bad game, last years, its been on a slight downward demise since number 3, bar 6 which as many people will say, the complete footy game which i totally agree with
the point that needs to get across is that the game is not moving forward, lets forget about last years major blip in the series, if you can honestly say that 2009 is better than pes 6, i'd say your lying :fplm:
