I need help with Shooting [WE8]

I dunno if its the game or me, i can seem to get my shots on target-if i shoot straight it goes wide, and if i decide to place the shot it either goes wide or into the keepers hands.
Could anyone please give me a detailed explanaition on how to shoot close range and long range shots?

I Find That It Is Hard To Get Past The Keeper From Close Raange Without Lobbing Him. One Thing I Find That Works Though Is If You Put The Ball Diagonaly Down Into Toe Bottom Corners As The Keeper Finds It Harder To Save.
