Idea: Form Arrows

I don't know if this has been discussed already, but I have an idea about how form arrows could be changed from an abomination into something good.

Form arrows are currently affected by the Form stat, ranging from 1 to 8. Other than that, it's pure bingo whether "todays form" is good, regular or bad, and the impact on performance is quite large between purple and red arrow.

If the arrow is supposed to depict the daily change in form, you know, the "karma" that makes it your day or a bad day, then the current impact is too big in my opinion. A 15% increase or decrease in several abilities is too much. If we where talking about regular "in or out of form" arrows, then it would be quite alright. But that kind of form does not change from day to day like the current arrows does.

Solution A)
Daily edge
Let it change from game to game like it does now, but limit it's impact only to accuracy based abilities, Mentality/Tenacity and arguably Technique. Because, having a bad day does not make you into a sluggish shadow of yourself, but you're hitting the bar instead of straight in the angle, and you tire a bit faster.

Solution B)
Current form
Being a completely random event at the start of the game, and after a holiday to give you a starting point. After that, last 5 match ratings should give a number that points to a form arrow on a scale. Performing well over time give you a slight boost or penalty in selected abilities. These boosts or penalties should affect accuracy based abilities, Mentality, Teamwork and Technique in various amounts. Mentality should suffer the hardest, because a strike of bad form is mentally challenging. Look at Torres, for example.

Solution C)
A combination of A and B, where you have a current form arrow and a daily edge that affect your recent form. Not my personal choice, but if we want more realism, this is probably the choice to go for.

Ideas, suggestions? Come on, the word is yours.

Actually, i would blame form on stamina - when you feel lazy or tired you normally can't run as much therefore try hard - look at daniel alves, a lot of stamina who never feels lazy or tired but doesn't have a very high mentality. For example i play for the school football team but in the past few week i am feeling all lazy and sluggish as my stamina has gone very low as i'm not working out anymore and at football practice i lose possession of the ball too easily but that is regardless of my mentality- mentaltiy is a state of mind, if you pass out easily you have a low mentaltity but if you can take on a challenge you have a high mentality. So how good your form is should depned on your last match or should depend on your club doctor on how active they were in training or like in real life, all players should take fitness tests

We're not talking about recovering from long term injuries here, nor are we talking about sloth. At least I am talking about the form, if you perform as expected, better or worse. That's 95% mental, if you ask me. If a player has not been injured, he's doing well in training and is fit for match, but still don't perform, then it's either mental or tactical issues. Sloth rarely has anything to do with it.

The last season I played before my "career ending injury", I could not train much football because of school and other issues that I'd rather not discuss here, but I did a lot of running on my own. I performed way above expectations on the pitch, pulling off feints, dribbles and chip shots like never before, even though I had very little actual training with a ball.
The first match of the season started out great, and I floated on a wave of good fortune and confidence until I got injured in one of the last matches of the season.

We even beat two top division clubs out of the cup, where I had one goal and two assists in one game, and one assist in the second game. I was playing in the second highest division (now called Adecco) in Norway at the time. This was about 10 years ago.

Mental strength defies the laws of physics from time to time, football is no different.

The thing about form is its totally random, players like say Tevez can go for 3 games witout a goal and them score a hattrick out of the blue due to their ability, sometimes players just play well during a game for no reason, Bobby Zamora might grab a brace in a match and not score again for a month, when you take form out of the equation you rely on the players ability but thats truely never the case, players can get psyched up for certain games and play well...

On the other side of this there are players who have a fairly low key impacts in games, if they continue to jsut do what they do in games they will only decrease in form and this will jsut leave you with a badly affected player for no reason..

Its also worth noting that for your propsals to work then match ratings need to be looked at, whats the point in haveing them, a goalkeeper can make 16 saves in a game, concede one and finish with a 5.5, they seem to amke no sesne, a centre back who wins 90% of tackles of wins a ton of headers still only gets marked on the amount his team concedes which could be the goalkeepers fault...

A mediocre player with a blue arrow is perfectly able to score, if that's what you mean. A lucky strike can be performed without a red form arrow, but a mediocre player with red form arrow is Messi lite with the current system.
