Description:
No 1: Keepers gloves, these are something that now look less like the real gloves that you see a keeper playing in but now look like they are some sort of chemical gloves. They seem to be so out of proportion with the player’s hands. In addition to this licensed gloves would add something to the look of the game; there are licenses boots and an increases range of them so why not keepers gloves.

No 2: Allow keepers to volley a ball from hand. The keepers can drop the ball onto the ground but it doesn’t appear that you can volley the ball from hand; there are many keepers who do this. There should be control over where you aim a kick from hand it not just be a long kick up field for your players to battle for but you should be able to aim where you want kick to.

No 3: The keeper should be able to dictate to the defenders if he wants 1 player on the post of 2 players on either post. At the moment you can only get 1 player on the far post but you will see that in real life you will have occasions where you have a player on each post as well as the keeper there. This would help in your defending of set pieces and help to prevent any unnecessary goals being conceded.

No 4: Changing the setup at free kicks. You should be able to change the number of players that you have in a defensive wall; you should be able to have total control over the number of players that you have in the wall and where the wall should be positioned. Also you should be able to direct players to either zone mark or man mark other free opposition players in the box.

No 5: Increase the amount of reaction saves that certain keepers are able to make and also don’t limit the area of the body of which a ball can be deflected with. Allow feet and elbows and legs to all be used to try and save a shot. Keepers can use any part of there body either intentionally or unintentionally to save a shot. This would be suitable for certain keepers who are very brave and will use there whole body to stop shots.

No 6: Marking allow there to be selective marking, if a strategy is chosen such as zone marking let one of the opposition players be singled out for special treatment so more players are drawn to marking the zone around where they are. This could either help to neutralise a great player on an opposition team or it could allow more opportunities by opening up a defence.

No 7: More control over a goal kick or throwing a ball back into play. With the current system the keep will throw the ball back out to defenders. It would be better to allow the keeper to throw further than just the defenders or allow the keeper to roll the ball out to either the defenders or another member of the team. This would allow more control over where the ball will go and can help to restart play quicker and direct a counter attack from that. Fine control over a goal kick would help in restarting the game but could also be used as a strategy for your team. At the moment a goal kick doesn’t seem to be able to travel much further than the half way line, this should be changed as certain keepers have longer goal kicks than others and this should be reflected in the game. Another thing which would be a great addition is to have another member of the team take goal kicks if the keeper has become injured and no longer able to take goal kicks.

No 8: More realistic defending styles. These would be more specific to teams so some teams would close you down very quickly and just put men in front of you so that there would be 2 on 1 situations if you have a very good player that who could cause a lot of trouble to the opposition. They would be in front of your player at the edge of the box and be there to stop you passing or getting a shot at goal. Also have teams which close down quickly but tend to just send tackles flying in on your players or tackle very hard to win the ball back. This could mean that they put strong challenges to win the ball off you or that they try to physically push you off the ball etc.

No 9: Tackling and tackling styles. Depending on the country that a team comes from there will be a different style of tackle and more importantly a different way in which fouls have been given. So in Italy defending is done in one way is very tight and disciplined but when they are tackled they will roll around on the ground pretending to be injured to try and tempt the ref into a booking. This sort of difference in mentality could be lead to new challenges. Tackling, depending on the time in the game and how tired a player is will have an effect on his tackling style. So if he caught last man in the final few minutes of a game he will more likely just come in a crunching tackle to try and win the ball back. This could either result in a booking or injury or if the player is someone like Jamie Carragher or Steven Gerrard they will win the ball back well and be able to play it out of danger.

No 10: Men behind the ball, if your team is playing against an opposition who have set out a very defensive strategy then let it be that there are times when the whole team is behind the ball defending so it would be more difficult to break them down and you would have to think of new strategies. This could work if you are playing against this or if this how you choose to set your team out against an opponent.

No 11: Allow the keepers to take free kicks within his own half within the final few minutes of the game, this would help if your team is pushing up the field to either get an equaliser or get the winner in a match. It’s also realistic as keepers will come out and play as a sweeper if the team is pushed completely forward. You can bring the keeper out to tackle so why not bring him out to take free kicks in final few minutes of a game.

No 12: Include the ability to play the ball even when you’re on the floor. If you have been knocked over, either as the keeper or as a defender you should still be able to play the ball. This would be an improvement in knocking away or clearing the ball from danger or playing the ball away to a team mate or into touch once you have tackled a player.

How would this improve the game:
If you have a look at some of the videos they illustrate some of the points that I am trying to make. Just so its clear what I am talking about. These suggestions are fairly self explanitory and would help to give a more realistic keeper and he would feel more like a player that you can control and move like any other player instead of being quite so isolated as he is at the moment. These would also help to improve the game as a keeper can play a big part in a teams performance, either saving a team and giving them a suprise result or having a poor game and not helping a team to win.

Good suggestions the Keepers should have more stats. Bravery, catching, punching, kicking, throwing etc.

Goalkeeper gloves must be changed in PES 2010.:realmad:
And another thing that need to be changed is CAPTAIN ARM BAND which is too large.I've seen in trailer that it's the same captain band, but there it's still time to be adjusted.

i agree with you
goalkeepers should have their own stats or own primary stats such as
handling, reflexes(response), jumping, punching, collecting crosses, kicking

Thank you for your comments on these suggestions... I hope more people read these and like me can see what a difference they would make to the game.

What I would like to see is a license to the teams in the premier league.
Every year, pretty much every team has there own kits, and look amazing. But then you get to the English League, and apart from two, generally, the kits look shoddy and out of place when you play the likes of Barca or Madrid, AC or Inter.

That is down to license issues. Not having the license for the Barclays Premier League...

I thought that I would bring this back to everyones attention.

why cant konami get rid of that video before you play the game, like have an option to turn it off in the game, you can do this on gran turismo 5 prologue,
and another thing, cant they make the game start loading from the formation settings so loading times are much quicker, if they cant do this then they should create something like the arena, like training etc
