First of all, I've always been a PES fan....always loved it, never liked any other game. (just in case you think I'm here to bash your most favorite game) ;)

There are some things in PES5 though that make it completely unenjoyable for me and very unrealistic. When I play at 3, 4 or 5 stars I feel I'm being cheated by my own team every single match.

One of the things that I really hate now (after playing PES5 since the day it was released) is that my team mates are always weaker and more passive on the field that the opposition's AI. My team hardly ever tries to intercepts a pass, they never put any pressure on the other team and leave WAY too much space between them and the opposing players.
I've tried every setting, tweaked tactics and lineups till early next morning, but nothing makes a difference.

Also, my players are never stronger than the opposition, and the opposition always reacts and runs 2x as fast. When I last played a game like Brazil vs Iran for instance, my players were constantly pushed off the ball...I didn't manage to make one freaking header nor do I manage to capture the ball without fouls, just cause my team mates just don't do anything! It really drives me insane and taken ALL the fun out of playing PES5 for me!

The biggest thing that cracks me up is that, when you ever played real soccer/football, you know you always should make traingles - which means that the guy who carries the ball always should have two guys to play the ball to. Now my guys often run into eachother (!!) and never help eachother by trying to create some space for themselves. This makes them always out of positiion for both offensive and defensive moments. When I loose the ball (simply because the opposition puts much more pressure on me - which IS realistic), the other team always runs from far away straight to my box, cause nobody of my team is making life difficult for them.

I mean, honestly, how I am supposed to play like a real soccer match, when my team mates are the most stupidest players on the globe ? Now, when I look at the opposing team the level of skill I'd like to see IS in the game....but just not on my team at all.

Any suggestions are very welcome - things like Opp.Side Attack, Zone Pressure, Man Marking, etc don't make any difference for me.....Oh yeah and 9 out of 10 of the shots I make always get blocked!! Always.

After playing PES5 for so long, I have to admit that I don't find it more difficult that the older games, but I do find it VERY unfair and right now a real waste of my time.

i agree 100%, can win around 4-0 on 2-star over and over.. but switch to 3,4,5 stars and i end up with a long string of 0-0 draws...
it is soo annoying !

Hate to say it, but I am sick to death of PES5, and I am going to sell it and buy PES4. Why? Because, it is no fun any more. I used to be able to hook up 2 or 3 passes and then hit a first-time shot on goal, and even on TWO stars that is impossible in this version. Matches are becoming a REAL chore and I feel that I am just completing games for the sake of it.

The real evidence is that I noticed that I haven't saved ANY replays at all yet, even though I have had it for weeks. On PES4, I had filled all the slots with top-notch replays in a few weeks of playing.

Overall, PES5 is now starting to remind me of the FIFA games, and that can't be a good thing. Time to vote with my feet...

You just dont like it because it is too hard for you and you like it when you can run through everyone and belt it in from 30 yards. The key is to keep possesion and wait for your chance.

No. What I want is entertainment. If I wanted a serious football sim, I would be playing Championship Manager. I want to be entertained and I want to have fun. I don't like having to play the ball around endlessly to wait for a gap in the defence to emerge. I don't want opposition players falling all over the place like southern European players do just when I look at them. It's boring and all the fun has gone out of it. That's why I am going back to PES4.

I was feeling the same way initially. Now I cant tell you how much I LOVE THIS GAME PES5! This is truly an amazing game. People always make the mistake of playing this like they in PES4. Your mentality and mindset has to change. If you dont see the triangle, wait for it and creat the space, allow your opposition to move around and that gives you space and time.

I'm able to get scorelines from 1-0 to 3-2 in 5*. If you are impatient, you'll miss this great and amazing fun of PES5.

See my sig for more.

lol intercepting and keeping possession are a piece of cake. Only practice would make things perfect, but i guess it's not the case for u.

I have to agree that 6* is still to easy but i would probably complain if it was too hard so it is probably just right.

Not really, would rather it be too hard on 6* than too easy, gives you something to work towards...

i dont think anything you mentioned is a problem, i think what is the problem is that the computer still diliberately cheats you out of winning. for instance i just played portsmouth at old trafford as man utd. i managed to hit the post with 2 penalties and then hit the post twice in normal play with van nistelrooy and solskjaer. i had 21 shots at goal and only 8 hit the target (thats not including the 4 of the post) that to me is just cheap, especially considering i won the two games before 3-0 and 4-0

PES5 looks and feels like a great and superb game. The only downside is that the AI cheats. Remove the AI cheating and "VOILA", you have one AWESOME OUSTANDING FOOTY GAME!!
