You know, somehting I never have understood, is how people bitch and bitch about cheating cpu...but this is like in real life guys - The ref isn't always fair, he often favors a team. Not to mention, I really don't notice excessive cheating...they call maybe 3 or 4 a game against my team, and i slide tackle A LOT. I find keeping possession is pretty easy, although the opposition is tough, even on 4 stars which I'm currently playing. I think the key is using a passing game as opposed to a running game, it will open up everything, as long as the passes are short. That said, I lose of course, and it's challenging. I like it that way. One last thign I noticed, goalies are better in open play, but off set pieces they're pretty bad, just made 2 fk goals with Angel from Colombian team, 20 and 27 meters, vs. Spain, Casillas wasn't even close. I had set everyone to a red arrow! In any case, I gotta say I think pes5 is a big step ahead, many imporvements in my mind.

funny u say, that the refs are like real... why is it then, that they see every offside??? Also the goalies, as I mentioned in my thread, are retarded... Just re-installed pes4, and tell u what, much much better... The freedom to do stuff... u press left, the player goes left... just smooth and excellent gameplay... pes5 is not as good... it's random... in pes4 I knew exactly what and when I was doing wrong, and I learned from my mistakes... In pes5, I don't know what I'm doing wrong... U do the exactly same thing twice, with different results... rubbish

I used to play PES on PS1 until a week ago! Not only because I don't have a PS2. I didn't like PES2,3 and 4 because you could learn some dribbles and tricks, understand the ways that you can make a goal and then you where ready to take a player, dribble the whole defence and make a goal! That's why I loved PES (or ISS) on PS1. Because you couldn't do that. You had to pass the ball, try to "open" the defence and try to make a goal by the whole team, not only from Adriano or Ronaldinho or a superstar that can pass anytime the whole opponents' defence.

By the time I saw PES5 and played it, I loved it! Because that was what I wanted from a game. Even if PES3 and 4 had better graphics and movements than PES for PS1, I wanted the real football. And that's what I found again in PES5.

So, if you can't play "serious" football and you want to take Robinho or Adriano, pass the whole opponent team and make a goal, then it's going to be difficult for you. As I told you, I had very little experience from all PES tittles on PS2, I play PES5 only for a week and I play in 4 stars with Panathinaikos and I won Juventus and Inter. How do you explain that? And maybe you have a team with low teamwork (like Barcelona). Just an aadvise: try to see your players in the whole field. If you can't pass the ball forward then just pass it back and try again a new attack.

I like that I have to work in order to win. That's the point in football...

Are you serious?6* is too easy for me, as it is for most people on this forum.
i agree

6stars is good for me.. it's anybodies game.. they didnt make it so you would pwn the game completely .. so no team stood a chance ahha

just now .. i played brazil vs argentina .. and they wont 4 : 0 . .GUT DAM!!!

then i played another match.. then i held the balll for more longer and kept possesion.. and won 3 - 0 .. on 6 stars.. it's fun because it's very realisttic...

Actually, I get called for offsides that aren't real. It's a video game, there will always be bugs, and unfair things. I realize it. Hey, it's not like I'm playing fifa (which, sadly enough, I have).

Not necessarily. After all, it doesn't say "tw*t" under you're name, does it?

I have re-installed PES4 and it is SO much better than PES5. I just wish that I had been made aware of nature of PES5 before I had shelled out £20 on it. I certainly won't be rushing out to buy v6...

PES4 is for people who don't want to bother with the strategy side of the game. It is vastly inferior in multiplayer to PES5. When I play PES4 now with friends it just makes me gag the way it is played; cynical and boring.

The point with PES5 is that you need to have a feel for the flow of the game that extends beyond 2 seconds before and after your move. AKA you have to trust more than just your eyes to play it. Be creative, try strategies that involve more thought than just "pass to striker and try to shoot", draw out defenses and exploit the space. Trust me, when you learn to do this, PES5 is rewarding in a way that PES4 can never be.

And the CPU doesn't cheat in any way shape or form. Every single thing they do, you can also do. Pick up the guide and it will tell you all this.

Players have so little stamina in PES5, that if they actually did anything off the ball they would be out of energy before the first half ended.

I agree with the main ( 1st comment ) After playing pes fin the early days with ps1 and throughout many years later, I had alot of fun and couldnt argue that Pro evo was the best soccer game ever and the most fun. For me this is where the fun has stopped pro evo 5 has bored me and made my time of playing the game a waste also. Ive never read so many complaints about pes before , I'm agreeing with the minuses of the game now also, never thought i would so there must be something wrong with this years pes. Its crap. Im back to pro evo 4. Some fun. AND for the guy who said u have to make space, make plays and not dribble...thats just boring and the cpu can do what they want but the player is always limited. They need to get their programming right these geeks.

Also, my players are never stronger than the opposition, and the opposition always reacts and runs 2x as fast. When I last played a game like Brazil vs Iran for instance, my players were constantly pushed off the ball...I didn't manage to make one freaking header nor do I manage to capture the ball without fouls, just cause my team mates just don't do anything! It really drives me insane and taken ALL the fun out of playing PES5 for me!

Okay, the line I have marked in bold is just what has annoyed me for sometime, playing online, I always hate getting freekicks, corners etc. because everytime I crossed the ball in, my player walked backwards, even when they don't opposition always came up behind me and still cleared the ball, but today playing online, I was playing this guy and I am ashamed to say that he beat me 4-1  but 3 of them came from corners, I told him at the end that he is the only person I have seen that can get on the end of corners so well, and all he said was that from set pieces dont put any power on the cross, put the bar about 1/4 of its way. Went into training and tried it and found myself winning more headers.

As the topic goes "I'm seriously FED up with PES". I AGREE. I hate games that CHEAT. It's like playing a real footy game with a bribed referee.

FIFA always have their saying "Fair gameplay". Konami really needs to have FIFA rules. I wonder what Konami saying is??? Shame on Konami.

If you hate games that you feel the computer cheats you of winning, there is 2 solutions to this.

1. Play FIFA 2006

2. Play people online

You choose.

FIFA has fair gameplay? Don't you mean u can win every game on FIFA no matter what difficulty it's on?

After playing PES5 for so long, I have to admit that I don't find it more difficult that the older games, but I do find it VERY unfair and right now a real waste of my time.

if it's such a waste of time then dont play it. .
