Import Player and Squad Data

Hi guys

I see on Official Pes on twitter that they announced data sharing would include the ability to import player and squad data. What does that mean exactly? Am I being way too hopeful that it means we can import players from, say PES 2016, thus giving us a chance of having a good Bayern Munich with real faces etc?

Also, what's with the big announcements about 'fully licenced Brazil, Argentina and Chile'? Weren't they mostly licenced anyway? If you're not going to include real faces for at least some players on each team, who really cares? It's the god damn CHILEAN league for christs sake!!

I presume they're talking about option files. In PES 2016 you could only import images, not the option files.

There was an Argentinian and Brazilian league in PES 2016, but they weren't full licenced. I think the teams and players in the Argentinian league were licenced, but not the league itself. Chilean league had fake team names/league name but real players. Brazil league had fake league name, some fake players but real team names.

I understand about the ability to use other peoples option files via USB, but the tweet seemed to suggest this is something different. That you can import player and squad data, which just made me wonder whether you would be able to import in missing players like Lahm and Ribery from PES 2016? Just wondered if that would be possible?

You can import just one team too right?

How would that work. Would it have to be over the same team they made it over. Could it cause duplicate players. Will roster updates mess it up?

that's the interesting part! with weekly live updates this would cause drama. hopefully the live updates don't touch fake teams and players that would be fantastic. Future DLC will be content only (stadiums, boots)

Live updates will affect all edits done to players. Fake players will be restored and any edits to stats/faces will be defaulted again. So, if anyone plans to do lots of editing, the best option would be to turn off live updates, because this year its not only about online, but offline as well. At least thats how I understand it and thats how they should work given the past experience. Live updates wont affect club names, badges, kits, stadium names and so on.

Optionfiles, Im not sure I quite get it. There are people talking about one file like in the old days, there are people talking about one file for one team, but improved one, since you wont have to manually adjust kit colors, all the the team data/squad/kits/ will be imported automatically?

I think in that case, you will be able to import it over any team you like, no difference. Any possible duplicate players should be shown before squad importing. At least in ps3 days you could see who will overwrite who and if there are exactly the same players in database already.

So, just to clarify - the importing of player data doesn't mean that we can import the likes of Lahm or Ribery from previous games? So we are going to have to settle for rubbish generic faces for some big players this year?

Yes, there is no way to import them, unless you are using ps3, it might be possible there, but not for current gen. Im sure someone will try to make Lahm and Ribery look as much realistic as possible, but afcorse they wont look the same as last year.

I believe its copyright thing. Bayern is exclusive to EA FIFA now. Only solution would be to put them into national teams, but Lahm & Ribery already ended their careers there.

The only thing I hope is that I can use option files made by other users as in PS3 times. I'm getting older and older and unfortunately do not have enough time to create all the leagues and players on my own once again.

It might be that they have finally fixed the updates so that they only effect the real teams & not the fake ones. Even if they haven't then because team imports/exports are back it will be a quick fix to just re-import all your edited teams again.

No one is still 100% on how the sharing will work. I think it will be just individual teams that will work the same as they did on PS3, with like you said any duplicates shown before importing. This will mean a OF would be a group of teams to import, but then you would have to edit your own league names/emblems.

paul2478, hi! Good to see you again. It was lots of fun helping you with face edits back in ps3 days. I think your PES 2015 optionfile had the biggest amount of edited faces ever. Maybe over 2000? Anyway, good times.

I remember Adam tweeting about people who plan to edit a lot and adviced them to turn live updates off in that case. He didnt mention which part specifically will be affected. Fake players/all the players, we will find out next week. The same goes with optionfiles. I was pretty sure it will work like one file - one team, but then, there are people likes PES Universe, who say their optionfile will be easy to use, one click/import it all and you are ready to go. It costs extra money, kind of donation thing, but all other stuff is free to download manually and import manually. Maybe some kind of mapping can be done to a single file?

Grand_J, it will be much easyer and quicker this time around. Even if there will be single files, you will be able to apply everything with one import, no need to edit kit colors manually and so on...

Thx for your response. Importing kits was ok in PES 2016, but editing all the players + their faces took an unimaginable amount of time, time that I don't have anymore. I hope that it will be fixed this year by uploading option files. Otherwise I have to buy FIFA, which would put a lot of pain in my heart. All I want is a realistic football world in my master league, with Bundesliga.

Its possible, because squad data can be transferable as well. So, basicly, everything you need in one file, regarding that one team.

Yeah that was great mate :D I think if things get rest it will be same as PS3, so just transfers & nationalities. Even if that is the case then being able to import all teams back in will be a pretty easy fix each week.

I'm working with the guys at PES Universe on their OF the only difference between paying for the USB or downloading for free from the website will it will save you downloading the files & copying them to a USB. It just makes things easier for people will slow internet or who aren't very tech savvy.

Someone on the team is likely to get the game on Monday so then we will find out exactly how it will work ;)

Thanks for this information! It made things clearer for me. And looking forward to monday for definite confirmation.

I have now seen a few images (which I won't share on here as I don't want to ruin the few links I have at Konami, just have a look on Twitter), but it looks like the sharing is just individual teams, but there is a option to bulk import teams. So if you have 100 teams on a USB you can import them all at once rather than 1 at a time :)

Man, if it really will be possible to just download teams from some wonderful editor (yes, the editors here are incredible!!!) on a USB-device und quickly copy them into my PES 17 game, I would start screaming of joy and dancing like a monkey on a rubber ball!
