When i play in Master League, i noticed something.

ULTRA shit teams always give u a hard time, everytime i had to try 10 times before beating a team, i check their ranking later, it is always the bottom 3.

is this made on purpose by konami?

Nope, it's simply because the shit teams defend. They tend to cluster and defend 24/7. However, top teams in ML tends to attack, which means their defense is open to you. You can always find openings in top teams, but not always so with a shit team. I personally find it sometimes very hard to score goals against shit teams. I usually beat them from set-pieces. Hope this explains.

Sometimes it does feel like it is out of your control. It just happened to me, I beat Chelsea 3-0 (5*) and next game I tied Celtic 0-0, and they're 3rd from bottom. I tried but no matter what I couldn't score, even hit the post a couple of times.

You missed then so it's your lack of ability, not the computer.

Always take the loss, and face it like a man. Never replay. That's for noobs.

It's not me that replays the games if I don't win. I'm just saying that it's frustrating that I can put 3 goals past a team like Chelsea but when I play the 3rd bottom team, I can't even score one, but shit happens so what are you gonna do.

Yeah I kinda noticed that too, I usually beat Barca Chelski etc 7-1 or 8-3 or stuff like that, when it comes to the shitty teams I'm always struggling.

Is it really the all out defending that is causing these sorts of results? Or is it that the computer automatically makes it harder to win? I hate it when I beat a super team like Barcelona or Chelsea and then lose on a penalty (I never pressed square or X, he just fell over) to Everton or something... Konami needs to make hard teams way more harder and easy teams easier... They got it all mixed up!

I've noticed this at times as well. However, I have to wonder about the rationale. What I have definitely noticed is that when I play against poor teams, they attack horrifically. I just stay patient and wait for one of their defenders to blow his line coverage.

But when I'm playing against the best teams, my players seem to rise to the occassion. Passes are crisper, dribbling is leaps and bounds more deft, and the frequency of my strikers to slam one perfectly into the corner netting is sublime. When I play against a lower ranked team, my players feel slower, and seem to take it easy, so to speak, so at times it makes it harder.

By the same token, a LOT of teams out there in the real leagues could force 0-0 or 0-1 scores all season if they were hell-bent on defending the entire game. It also would mean they have very little chance to win, just like in WE9.

yeah, except Konami did it wayy too excessively, shit teams SOMETIMES give good teams a hard time, but the reason why good teams are on top is because good teams are better than shit teams therefore should play better. Konami definitely screwed up this aspect.

Sorry dude, my comment wasn't aimed at you.

I think you'll find tho that this change in results happens in real life all the time. A Premiership team can beat another Premiership team only to lose to a lower league team in a cup a week later. It doesn't mean that the lower league team is better then both those teams, it just means that they had the best tactics/rode their luck on the day.

If you're struggling to beat a team, change tactics. Every team is beatable, but perhaps the occasional team doesn't succumb to the tactics you use most frequently.

I used to think it is because of formations that shit teams give me a harder time, but it is not, they simply "cheat" with shit teams. When i play against barcelona, they have 4-3-3, i can score a bunch, a shit team with 4-3-3, exact same formation, I cannot beat the shit team. It has nothing to do with tactics, mostly just luck and fact that shit team cheats.

No problem.

You have some good points there. I remember watching Man. United against Sunderland last season, final score 0-0 if I remember correctly. It's a crazy game that football.

Or.... as it's been stated.... perhaps the "shit" team that still has a few solid players on the pitch just plays more defensively and slows the pace of the game? I've noticed that poor teams tend to foul me near the goal rather than marking my player and trying to take the ball. I get quite a few penalty shots because they just can't keep up with Rooney's moves. :p

The formation really has very little to do with tactics. Just because a team plays the same formation doesn't mean they play the same way as another team.

There are many factors which can effect how a team plays. Form is just one of these factors.

You seem quite naive about this really, so I would suggest you accept that computer doesn't cheat and it can always be beaten.

Bloody anoying aint it. I mean, I'm using Liverpool, and I was playing this morning and just started my second ML season, in the first season, I beat man u and chelsea, and drew with everton and wigan, and lost to hearts.
I finished 5th, and won the D1 cup. Now the second match of the second season was a champions league qualifier against Juventus. I won 6-0! A hattrick for Torres and 2 for Gerrard. And this is the same team that lost to hearts, who were relegated at the end of season 1. It does seem a bit weird...
