In the edge... Pes 2010 gameplay Views

Yeah Folks... i am in the edge of quit PES 2010, maybe i am going to try FIFA...i dont know...i am really confuss, because IMHO after playing 10 years PES, and 800 offline-600 online PES 2010 matches( with a 640 Rating),PES GAMEPLAY NEEDS:

1)A major overhaul... IMO the gameplay and the mechanics of the game are broken....because 5 basic things::(

1a) Passing system: Its really difficult and random pass to the ball to the desired player, the throws balls (lofted and grounded) are mostly useless, even with Pirlo...thats why PES 2010 online becomes in a RUN, RUN, RUN game...like car racing...not football... with the fastest players ALL the time.:realmad:
1b) Reaction delay or Button Lag (Response Issues): It is like a broken glass with bubble gum...Because the engine of the game its not capable to deal with mo-cap or inverse kinematics. There is too many time between animations to do something in the pitch. Its really difficult play a fast minded football because you brain is 4 second ahead that the player reactions in the screen... For my, football its a hability-Fast thinking sport game... and as a simulator, in the botton line, PES dont deliver that anymore.:eek:hmy:
1c) Animations: The system is absolutely outdated...its almost a joke pay a full price product for a system thats is from 7 years... With instant response, the animations are second line, but with the lag dued to the animations system fail...it is almost stressing see the screen.:shocking:
1d) Referees: The rules of the beautifull game are the same for the last 100 years or more until PES 2010... Its true, that in the real flesh and bones referees, judgement have some kind of ramdomness..but there are consistency... a tackle from behind in the major box its a red car and penalty 85% of the times... but in PES 2010 its like 5%... Clearly, the probability function used in the PES code to determine the referees calls is broken because the hole collision system its broken... When we add the animation, lag, delay, random passing, referee and collision issues we have a game unplayable or at least not playable like football simulator or any good PES back from 2007.:crymore:
1e) Keepers: There are so random in their responses, so limited in their animations, so inconsistent in their parries... that has ruined the experience... mostly online...in one time of one single match you have Casillas taking shoots from every angle, from 6 yards, etc... in the next time you have the same Casillas doing NOTHING with a soft header... or sending the ball to the forwards or the net 50% of the times... its like a coin toss...come one!!!.... not even think in the consistency of smaller teams kepeers like Udinese, Atletico..even DIDA or Csech from Chelsea.

Others:

-Player broken switch system
-Zonal deffence system with 3 man running against one crushing each other.
-Invisible walls
-Throws ins
-Free kicks and effect (swerve or curve)

2) ONLINE PLAYING:

PES ,objetively, is one the of the ugliest online experiences in current gen... the balance is more weighted in the TEAMS or footballers individuality, that in the player hability or capacity...
For example:
Its really possible for a good PES player against CPU or a BAD PES player beat Real Madrid using Benfica or even Wolves...in the 2007 back PESs almost 80% of the times you can win a game using every team against a bad player using the best team available...but from 2008 to 2010 the average has been reduced from 80% at 40% or least... Today, ONLINE, the best team win 75% of the times no matter what kind of player are behind...that dued to the LAG, the cheap goals, the kepeers and referees inconsistency and the Run game tipe.

For my, playing the CPU its not funny anymore...because its predictable offensively and deffensively...even today i can not see any trace of the famost TEAMVISION thing...there are no genetic altghorism behind PES or it does not work properly...that is a fact for me. I realy need a football game playable online, because online its my only option to play football games today.

In the end line, i think that KONAMI need a new head in front of PES, with new ideas, with new goals and open, really open to the community.

I really want a fixed PES 2011...but its really difficult see that comming..almost as difficult like beating a medium PES brazilian player using BRAZIL with CHILE with 2 second LAG in the PES 2010 five minutes tournaments...

Fifa its not my time of game...for me its like NCAA basketball in a green pitch, with every player-team doing the same in the same way with a plastic 1$ ball...but at least, reading the reviews, it works good online...

If any of you have tried FIFA10 online please give me some feedback about the experience...and for the hardcore fans like me...everyting has a end..even the love for the PES franchise and the fustration tolerance limit...

Respect... and wait from feedback... about FIFA online...writed from PES players....

PES2010 suffer from major, and gamekilling faults. But instead of giving up on it, I've dedicated myself to try fixing it with different approaches. I've edited my PES2010 to work really well and it's very entertaining. The only things I can't seem to fix is the amount of penalties and a way to activate Superstar difficulty in BAL.

FIFA10 is even worse than the worst of PES imho, even though it is definetly the best FIFA ever. You can pull off stunning moves and it looks great, but the moves are just not as effective as plain running and turning, and overall the game doesen't "feel" as good as it looks on the screen. I also feel a little bit claustrophopic when I play FIFA10, the pitches are long enough, but not wide enough and it's recreating the feeling I had when we played footy tounaments on handball courts during winter back when I was a kid.

As for online, PES & FIFA, I don't recommend any of them. If you want online game, get WoW and pretend the battlegrounds are rugby fields.

Nice comments and I agree with a lot of what you said - I hate the game now and have never felt so out of control during any console game as when I play this game, especially online.

Anyway, I cant help you by changing the game but I can do something for you - you made a few grammatical mistakes. I wont go through them all but here are a couple...

There is too many time - Time is uncountable like water or air. You never say many with uncountable objects but instead we should use the word much to indicate a large amount. Therefore you would say "The is too much time"

Its really difficult play a fast minded football - When there are two verbs in the sentence you should always use the infinitive form for the second verb ie with the word to. So you should write "Its really difficult to play"

Your English is good though so please dont be insulted by my corrections, Im just bored of trying to fix a game that Konami have ruined in my opinion and at least this way you gain something from posting in this forum.

Thanks Huw... dont worry. I never know if what i want to say is what I writte...sometimes i would like to post in spanish, but the spanish gaming forums are light years behind Pesgaming or WENB...

I learn a lot from reading here ... so your corrections are always welcome ...

What better?, Talking about PES and improve my English ... excellent combination

Do you have a opinion about Fifa 10 online?

PES 2010 is a far better game than FIFA, they just need to fix the cursor changing and put it back like it was on pes 6, better intelligence to your teamate when your not controlling them,( off ball situation), fix the foul system and penaltys...

CPU need diversity, every team play like barca, holding possession and play along the ground, its getting frustrating playing in the EPL seeing hull city or stoke playing possesion football...

these are minor fix compared to whats FIFA need in order to be a footie simulation... IMO konami just needed more time to tweaked the game but release dates come pretty quick...

There is nothing wrong with your English Ferdinand, a small error here and there but it's completely understandable. If you keep using it, you will be quite good in a certain amount of time. That's how I learned English anyway.

I'm really close to quitting PES10 and FIFA10. My beefs are:

PES10:

- poor AI (why head for the flag to cross when you have a free run at goal?), often predictable, boring
- through balls rarely happen from either side
- dreadful animations (jump between animations, players vibrate, ugly, hideous..)
- refs are biased against you
- opposing team plays like Brazil yet your teammates can't make a decent pass
- player under your control will stop for no reason and not respond
- passing, ball sometimes goes to random player or a random distance
- you have two choices; sprint ALL the time or pass within 2ms
- slower players can catch you up
- ping-pong, even with Blazer's edit file it still occurs
- have to edit all teams to improve gameplay
- did anyone at Konami play test this game?
- opponent has control before your throw in yet you don't
- commentary is poor
- poor sounds (ball etc)
- dreadful collision detection, or lack of
- too fast (yes, that's a personal opinion)
- BAL is weak - I like the in-game scoring in FIFA's BAP
- Licenses obviously
- need more manual control (don't make my player chase the ball into touch, let me decide)
- player switching often doesn't work
- I'm sure there's more...

FIFA10:

- too much like FIFA09
- predictable AI
- animations are quite jerky too
- dire menu system
- does not induce adrenalin
- ball physics just don't feel right
- ...

I've been playing soccer games since, oh, the Spectrum, Atari ST, Commodore 64. I've only played FIFA 98, 08, 09 and 10 (yes I avoided FIFA for years!) and WE8 (loved it) and PES10.

I agree that both fifa and pes have problems, but try switching between the two. This way, you'll just partially forget the other game's faults and enjoy the other.
It's what I do from time to time and it works.:)

in some ways, i feel like pes 2010 is like a completely new game compared to the old pes. It just borrows the same format and functions. This is encouraging as I hope version 2.0 of this half-assed game will be like vista to windows 7

Hey - how did you fix your pro evo? I literally have given up playing it now because of how broken it is.

Here is what I did, it's not perfect, but it makes the game enjoyable.

Global Changes
*Attack -82% (makes players more unpredictable)
*Defend -85% (to counter the poor attack rating)
Balance -35 (more free kicks, no notable effect on penalties however.)
Accelerartion -15
Top Speed -4
Response +5 (Max 95 for all, minumu 75 for all)
Agility +5 (edit only between 1-94 and max 94, minimum 75 for all)
Short Pass Speed -10
Long Pass Acc +5
Shot Power +2
Shot technique +5

Specific position changes
Aggression -18 (not SB and CD)
Jump +5 (SS and CF)

Skill Cards & Style Cards
Covering Remove from eveyone but CD and SB
Anchorman Remove from all
Man Marking Remove from all

Team Tactic Sliders (Works best with Professional and Superstar level)
Player Support +10
Support Range -10
Position Switch -15
Attacking Style -30
Pressing 68
Defensive Line +10 (Max70)
Compactness -30 (Max 30)

Make sure you do a backup of your file before starting to edit.

This is what I play with now, I have a theory about only changing Agility and Response but have no time to test it.

good luck

You are right about everything, ferdinand001. I have always appreciated your honesty on this forum, and think you deserve a true football simulation experience because you are clearly not a nose-picking kid whose sole purpose is to run run run online with Messi.

I actually bought FIFA 10 in December before I tried PES 2010. I played it for 10 days, did not like the cartoon graphics and gameplay, so I traded it for PES 2010. While PES 2010 was much better graphically, the online play was pathetic, full of laggers and cheesy Barcas and Madrids 99% of the time. I started a ML season, which I eventually abandoned because, as you pointed out, the frustrating aspects of this game make it practically UNPLAYABLE, and it makes you lose your temper easily.

This game filled me with hatred, so guess what I did? I traded it in so I could get FIFA 10 again! FIFA 10 is flawed as well, but not to the point where you want to punch your mother in the forehead in anger. Online is superior by a wide margin, and I have never experienced any lag. I would recommend that you at least try FIFA 10, if you become fed up with this game as I have.

^I do not agree that pes 2010 is unplayable offfline. Not at all. You can still enjoy it. But online is a disgrace. As for Fifa 10. It is a great game, but it has it's problems aswell. And it also makes you angry just like in pes. Afterall all football games cheat so much.:)

Why do people always feel the need to mention their rating on the online modes? No one gives a shit!

Maybe because they want to establish some ethos, to avoid comments like "you're just unhappy because you suck and lose all the time" and "L2P sucker!".

Pal, this game has been in development like 3 years...it uses the EUPHORIA-ENDORPHINE engine for anymations and colission detection. That means...every anymation is new and never seen, because the CPU calculates the physical effects of the collisions, speed, and everything else in REAL TIME...there is no predefined anymations at all.

In youtube you can see some footage..and GTAIV - Stat Wars force unleashed uses the Euphoria engine for anymations...

If you remember, almost any anymation on GTAIV are organic and new...no one is exactly the same with other....

IMAGINE THAT IN A FOOTBALL GAME, with the gameplay of PES5-6 and the graphics of PES2010...this is possible in current gen... TOTALLY possible.

That does seem attractive...on the other hand, convincing Konami to go that route is likes asking horse to learn piano.
