In this year of the World Cup, we need another patch!

The lack of penalties and the high number of non-calls by the referees is really dragging this game down. Patch 1.3 (in North America, assuming elsewhere too) left this part of the game still in need of attention.

Unless Konami has plans to release a special edition of PES for the World Cup, 2010 needs another patch.

We need to see two things:

1. Defenders making more hard challenges inside the penalty area.

2. Referees blowing the whistle more often, especially when there is a blatant take down from behind.

Put a reply in this thread if you would like to see a patch to fix the lack of penalties given.

Hopefully the right eyes will see this. The lack of penalty kicks awarded is a big problem.

I dont think so the referees blow up too much as it is. At the slightest of touch sometimes.

But a World Cup Edition of PES would be awesome, won't happen though. Fifa willhave one though probably.

I play 20 minute halves and see maybe five fouls per side. I also see some pretty harsh take downs that don't even get called.

They need a patch with the winter transfer update, and if they cannot fix all the flaws, then release another one not too long afterwards (feb or march)

They should add in New Zealand and Algeria sometime before the World Cup, amongst the myriad of other things that need to be tweaked, terrible refs, etc etc etc etc

Hopefully there will be a few tweaks here and there with the next DLC, especially with the refs. I reckon it'l be mid to late February when the next DLC comes, so they will have had nearly 2 months since the last DLC to try tweak the game for the better. It'd be impossible to fix all the problems and gripes people have, but surely the developers have seen or heard of the vastly negative feedback on fansites regarding the poor refereeing. Hopefully they can do something to fix them up before we wait til October for PES 2011

Yeah they need to add New Zealand and Algeria because they are in the world cup.

Why can't they patch in yellow cards for late tackles when you play on. Come back when the ball is out of play and book the player. This needs to be done.

I also feel that Konami should come out with a special world cup patch for pes 2010. At least they should include, update, and license the participating teams. I hope they will add special content or something.

They should release a DLC patch pre World Cup with updated kits and put in New Zealand and Algeria. It wouldn't be that difficult for them to do, so I'm hoping they'll give us that nice present. FIFA always release another game for World Cup and Euro Championships, so I think it would be good business sense for PES to create a nice DLC before they release their summer game

In 2009 there was enough free kicks and penalties, but the referee was very fond of the colour red...

In 2010 I'd like to see just as much free kicks and penalties as in 2009, but with much less cards.

I agree - I frequently get chopped down with no free kick or card, yet the slightest touch and I get a free kick against or a card.

I'm not sure if the ref needs to blow more - they just need to even it out.
E.g. a small mistake by you is a red, they blatently take you out from behind in the penalty area and nothing.
The ref only seems to blow to give the opposition the call.
Also the ref needs to make better decisions - I've lost count of how many times I have CLEARLY taken the ball before the player and been sent off.
Or when you miss time a tackle (e.g. when the AI decides to change player for you) and then a second or so later the player runs into your player who's on the floor and they get a freekick?
Surely if you are ALREADY on the floor before they are anywhere near you then the foul is on you (As it'd basically be an attempted stamping?)

Also they could do with the offside rule explaining to them - it's not where your feet are placed, it's if there is CLEAR DAYLIGHT between the players.

Penalties and fouls...

And the Superstar difficulty.

Time is ticking away though...

It would be a nice surprise to get another patch that fixed the fouls and penalties, and also added the Superstar difficulty.

It seems to me that the best and easiest way to patch this game is to simply fix the back line, by doing two things:

1. Make them stop retreating all the way back into their own box when an attacker dribbles down the middle. As is it's too easy to dribble down the middle to either rip off a shot or dump it to another player with a quick through ball.

2. Make defenders more aggressive and more willing to slide tackle. This would not only increase the fouls but also increase the likelihood of penalty shots. It would also improve the defense overall as they would close down quicker to block shots and disrupt the offense.

Keeping my fingers crossed that we get a new patch.

No need I guess Konami could patch the international mode from PES6 into PES10? tis better than releasing the same game with only internationals.
