It depends are you really a true pro evo fan answer that and your question would be answered

Like he said, if you just want to play a PES game, get it. If you are a mutual fan, save your money. It is an average game. BTW, the IGN review is a fake. IGN is actually a sponsor of PES 2008.

Pro Evo is Pro Evo, enough said

OFCOURSE YOU GET IT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Seriously though, if you liked any of the previous games, then this is no doubt better than them.
Physics and ball control is really good and when you get checked or have the ball stolen by a defender your off on the chase almost imediately instead being left standing like a numbnut for a few seconds.
I think it's an improvement but if your not sure just try the demo.

i would not go with what people say on here the only way to find out if you think it is worth getting is rent the game or play on a mates computer and make your own mind up that is the only way to find out if you really think the game is worth getting.

pro evo isnt as bad as peoples reviews show. in my books its still one of the best games out there. its just that people have expected alot more and the anticipation for all this "new features" that hasnt come has ruined what people think of it. if you love pes then like pes guy said get it!

I have ben pro evo from the beggining and haven't play fifa since 98. I bought the new fifa and it is miles ahead of the new pro evo in every way. I am so dissapointed.

I was always going to get a PS3 and wanted it for PES2008 so I got it.
Their are a few issues on PES2008 but I'm happy.

Without even touching on the lack of innovation within the menu and options, online lag.. ect...ect...(which i also felt flawed PES6) its difficult to for me to recommend this game if you have a PS3, the frame rate is so bad.. replays are unwatchable and it also pops up frequently during gameplay which i find has lost a lot of depth and edge.
And why should it matter what kind of TV you have??, whats that about?
How can they release an unfinished game that barely manages to stutter along?, its almost criminal...
I'm trying to were blinkers because i love this game but its hard to ignore and even harder to accept.
I've been playing since the early ISS days and PES had been my staple game for the last 8-9 years... the biggest reason why i game at all..
I'm usually in the shop at midnight on the release date but this year for the first time ever i rented the game given a bit of a let down with the options in PES6.. and i'm glad i did as it pains me to say i don't think i'll be buying PES this year (nor fifa as its worse and i'd rather suck Satans c@*k).....
I feel this is a bad deal for PS3 owners and i know i expect more from my console and Konami who have given us this half arsed approach yet again.....so i'll wait to see if there's a foreign release later in the year with the bugs ironed out.. who knows..
i'm just really annoyed that for the first time ever i'll not be playing a proper footie game this crimbo while having a few beers.

Rant over.. thanks for your patience:( :crymore: [/I][/I]

I am glad I got it for just 30 quid because although it is a decent game it really isn't worth the recommended retail price, it is still better than FIFA but I was hoping for so much more from Konami and I don't know why because the game seems to go backwards every year apart from the gameplay!
