Is PES 2012 on PC the way to go?

Just played THE best game of football to date against Arsenal on the PC, 3-3, what a game. Ebb and flow throughout, PC is the way to go guys! Only one thing though, the game is playing beautifully on normal gamespeed on the PC for me although I run it on low quality but resolution 1680x1040 (I think).

If I buy a better graphics card or increase the RAM will it have a detrimental effect on the game, ie make it faster and therefore less enjoyable. I think the only reason I'm enjoying it on the PC so far is all to do with the gamespeed and the way the players move, but is it like this because my graphics card is good but not great.

The last thing I want to do is shell out £150 and see my players acting like on my PS3 version!

Im not a PC expert but I don't think buying more RAM or a better graphics card will alter the game speed but it will certainly improve the graphics / animations if you get a decent graphics card.

Most brand new gaming PCs have twice the power of a console right now though.

You're preaching to the choir.

I've not played pes on a console but i don't buy into this pc version being slower.Maybe it's because you're using a small screen, that's why it seems slower.I've got it on a 32 inch screen and it's still way to fast for me.My advise hook your console up to a small tv and report back:lol:

This is the latest on this -

I had my PES set to 16:9 and it was slower. I then switched it to 4:3 just to see (unchecking the box about the black border shit) and the game was different again.....much faster!

So at 16:9 PES plays much slower on my PC, but on 4:3 it's like the PS3 version, but still either way it's much better, it kind of feels like a PES2011/PES5/WE9LE hybrid.

On the PS3 it feels very floaty now, and too responsive if that makes any sense.

1680x1040 is a weird resolution. What size PC monitor are you using? Is it a widescreen one?

It's an LG 22" widescreen I believe. I'm enjoying the game even more now on the PC, at 1680x1040, and with the ratio 16:9 the graphics are great and gameplay is simply sublime. I then went to play on the PS3 because had to do some baby duties, and it was a pile of shit. It's honestly like two different games where one is responsive but with the correct amount of weight to the players and the other with player switching problems and like on ice.

Does your monitor have a hdmi slot so you can connect it to your PS3?
