does any1 now of a different way of playing copied (or patched) pes disks on ps2 i.e. a plug that goes in the back like on the psone?

Nope.

The methods besides chipping are:
1. The Flip-Top Lid method.
2. The Slide Card method and
3. The Knife Trick.

There is a USB chip but that still involves soldering.
