I've had enough of this!!!!!! pes4 is way better than 5!!!!!!

Ok, PES5 has some nice features... goalies go after wide shots, ....

that's about it... the rest of the game is retarded... The way the goalies position is unrealistic... just out of possition, running around like rabbits... free kicks!!! what the hell??? From 25 yards out and none of my forwards are in the box trying to connect with the ball??? Am I supposed to pass the ball??? Why??? I want to whack it in the box, but there's none of my players there...

Shooting... I'm sorry, sucks big time... I tap the button and Van Nistelrooy shoots hiiiigh... next time I tap it, it goes in low... WTF??? Mind u, I understand, that it depends from the position of the player against the goal, but still, this is unrealistic...

Passing... No point in through passes, really, they're inaccurate as hell... They're fine to send wingers on runs, but to set someone lose down the middle, no way...

In pes4 I could play football... in pes5 I just get angry. Random results... In pes4 I played the game for a year and still was scoring different goals... in pes5 nooooo...

Pes4, gentle tap-ins, headers from crosses, long shots, lobs, low shots, all that...

Anyway, hated the way the players executed volley shots in pes4. But that's about it... The rest of the game was fab...

Anyone else agrees with me??? Or am I a lonely rebel in this world???

I agree with you. I can understand this at the higest level (5 or 6 star setting) but with 3 star setting, that crappy.

Ya the AI definately cheats. In my case, Im playin on 5* (cuz 6 is a bitch, cheating all over!!) and my games are either 1-0 or 0-0. If I score the first goal, comp usually never catches up. If AI scores first, only 1% of the time I actually manage to get an equaliser. Or... its just plain 0-0 which SUKS!

But ya I'm seriously debating if going back to PES4 is the best thing.

I' ve already told you my opinion. PES5 gives back the experience of real football. You cannot simple dribble a whole team with a superstar player! You have the pass the ball all way around and try to create problems to the opponent defence. I play in 4* with Panathinaikos and I've won Juventus and Inter and my only experience is on PES of PS1, as this was the game I was playing until a week ago that I discovered PC's edition of PES5 and I loved it...

I think you need to look at the larger picture here, PES4 was 'easy' everyone who has made a thread on this forum comparing the two has basically all said the same thing, 'I used to pass it for fun score goals for fun blaa blaa blaa' I currently watch Sunderland Football club as often as I can and believe me everything you described as getting on your nerves they do!! can't pass for toffee, never seen a quality through ball for a defence splitting pass and as for shots me mate in row 'Z' has been hit so many times now. I know Sunderland isn't the best team to compare as no doubt your playing with footballers like Ronaldinho & Zidane etc and you expect more but this is more realistic then it has ever been. As for Freekicks when you want to put it into the box if your man was there he would be offside everytime as in real life teams push out to the edge of the box for freekicks of a certain distance. I love this game I couldn't honestly go back to PES4 it has made me not dive in on com players and not tackle with X, it has made me become a better passer of the ball instead of running from the half way line with non skilful players and scoring a goal that only Ronaldinho can do in real life. My final note is Pro Evo is Evolving, players need to evolve with it.

Do I hear a 'HERE HERE', no? oh well maybe its just me that really likes this version.

Cheating simply means when you cant win and you get frustrated, they have to be cheating for them to beat you!

I alos agree with most things the guy in the first post has said, the shoot button seems to random, and throught balls might aswell b called pass to they keeper button as they always hit it to hard.

EDIT: and i also hate it when ppl start going, "just takes time to get used too" , "u must just b crap" etc etc, just becuase yous have adapted the madness of the game still doesnt make it play real.

Like everyone keeps saying though you dont have to play it. There is some faults we are not daft but you cant expect every shot you do to be perfect I hit the roof so many times on the 5 a side pitch its unreal lol

My opinion tho is its the most realistic Football game I have played. Think back to when you didn't have a power gage and every shot was the same power regardless - Remember??

you need to play heeps of games to get good at it..

play long games to learn how diff teams play.. like some teams have their defence back and thats when air through balls are useless.. or whatever.. get me?

I would say that the "secret" of the game is "team work". That's what you have to learn. And, as I told you (and I apologise if you got tired of reading it), if you have played ISS or PES on PS1 then you 'll understand what I say.

Do more passes than dribbles. Try not to tackle the opponent, because, like real football, if the opponent has a decent technique this is the best way to pass you! You have to mark him by a small distance and wait for his mistace. Just close his view to his teammate or to the goal.

I think that's the most important. Dribble is there only to help you, not to be your main way of attack!

That is the correct answer! I found it crap as well but if you do certain things, like keep the ball and use your wingers, use x to tackle by pressing it once when your by the player, and always try to use R2 after your power bar for shooting has come up, you will see the benefits and love the game as you will see how much it has changed!

Two extremely frustrating points : Inaccurate passes (what the writer mentioned for through balls, wings, etc etc. is so true) and I don't mean occasionaly inaccurate passes. There are certain scripted (?) "events" when the pass WILL and I mean W I L L go straight to hell even though there is NO and I mean N O reason for that to happen, real life football-wise.

The second one includes the first, cause I consider the passing faults a form of cheating. So second point is cheating, which is the main reason our favorite game became harder, more difficult.

As a bottom line, sure PES4 is easier and 5 is harder. You think that is good ? It would be good if it became harder because it needed more style more thinking over your tactics more training etc etc. But instead it is harder in a forced way, a way that leaves fewer choices for playing styles, less benefits from training, destroys tactics big time in so many cases of playing, and generally ruins what could be another great PES game.

Sidenote : To all the ppl telling in these forums "so go play pes4 i dont care" , "you just loose that's why you don't like it" , we all love the game and that's why we talk about it. If you don't like talking don't post in threads you don't like.

Teriible point... are you telling me that people who start threads like "PES5 is rubbish" love the game, without fail once a week we get a thread where someone has to tell us what is wrong with PES5 and how they cant play the game anymore because of these problems.
We all know the game is not perfect but it is the best football game out at this moment in time.
So we get this guy telling us that PES4 is better than PES5, so why is it not a valid point to tell him to go and play PES4 if he likes it sooooo much?

We agree, it is the best football game out, but the author of the thread is one of those (me including) who feel a bit of a let down cause konami did some certain wrongs in the latest PES5. They improved some of PES4 and ruined some too, I applaud the first I disagree and point out the second. That means I don't like PES? I care for it to be better, so I can play a better game. And yes sadly PES4 is better in lots of ways, fewer than the ones PES5 is better.

how does pes 5 cheat? how about the fact that no matter which team i am brazil/england/peru etc. i can pass the ball through the eye of a needle 75% of the time but the second i get in the opponent 18 yard box, my player passes it to a defender (this is 6*) even if i have 4 attackers and only 1 defender. or why deflections 7/10 times go to the opposition either when im attacking or when im defending. lets face it. konami cant program decent AI. the only way i loose or concede a goal and loose a match 1-0 or win 1-0 is by the computer team rewriting the laws of physics and cheating. and WHY do the opposition have the momentum of a small planet when tackling my players and sending my men sprawling with no foul but when i tackle somone my guy still falls over? rubbish. sometimes i have a good game but sometime the cpu just doesnt want you to win................
