I dont think the COM cheats on six star, it only has a few advantages...which is really stupid. Instead of making the AI play better they allow it to charge your attackers with three or four defenders at a time. It also plays dirty, meaning it'll tackle your wingers recklessly. In my opinion this game isnt meant to be played against the COM. The best way to enjoy this is to play against other people who will not jump on your players all the time and try to strip you off the ball at every step, because if you are a good dribbler and protect the ball well the entire game will be foul upon foul.

I was just playing a six star game, which is indeed very stressful and annoying, and this happened at some point which goes to show what i'm talking about...

Three forking bastards tried to take it from me. We cannot and are not allowed to do this which is a serious disadvantage. It is realistic but very unfair. Notice how i would not be denied and was able to take the shot.

The other thing that really pisses me off are the through passes. That needs patching, there is no doubt in my mind about it. Both high and low thru passes down the middle are way too hard.

I love the game and i understand the general frustration but just because you werent able to adapt doesnt mean that the game just sucks. Its one hell of an improvement that perhaps needs a little patching.

i dont think that the programming can be patched

Probably. Which means an update is needed. They need to do something about it because its either a huge flaw or there is some way of making soft high thru passes that i dont know about. I've tried lobbing but its difficult to master.

have you tried maxing out the power gage of a lob? Have you also tried holding L1 as you press lob?

No. I will later tonight. But somehow i doubt it gives the same results. In the section of the game were you are shown how to make the high through pass, if you notice when the COM does it its quite soft and it goes away from the keeper whereas when you try it it goes directly to him...maybe its something to do with my controllers but it happens to a lot of people.

Well, there are so many ways that the COM cheats that I don't have the energy to post it. You know what it is.

What muad says is the biggest flaw of the game, even if there are "ways around" it to produce similar results, it still is a MAJOR fault.

I can't believe konami did this to the through passing system, the very system that with "1-2"s made ISS so popular when it first came out.

Patch, Update, do something!

Also, as a side note, there is a form of cheating when playing against players too. While getting ready to hit a foul, you can control a player to position him near the wall or wherever you feel like to defend better. No, if the player that hits the foul presses select, to change the way it will be hit, often your player's position and sometimes other's too will reset. The offense can hit the foul fast while you are having a clear disadvantage over them.

EDIT : If the through and high through balls are not normal through balls anymore, then they should rename them to something more fitting.

Is it my imagination or does the COM player get away with a lot of 'offside' play? This does sometimes feel like 'cheating' but maybe this is another aspect of PE5s realism?

my opinion is each game is pre determined by the cpu.some games u find it hard just to get a goal and sometimes u score 3 or 4 goals in extra time!seriously this happens to me all the time!the thing is,if you are feeling the cpu is starting to cheat,let them have possesion a little longer,then after 10 or 15 mintues ofa game time,restart ur attack..usually this happens in the start of 2nd half if ur leading the game.the key is to pass only with teammates u confident to be able to receive the pass,no passing wildly,get it?iplay fine on 6*,win against all the big clubs,but milan is a tough one i tell u..and the weaker clubs seems alittle annoying most of the time..

Sounds to me like a lot people dont like pes5 because they cant just knock through balls in to a fast striker and score, this version really rewards players who are good at the game, which is why its great.

The only thing i agree with is when you want to cross the ball from a distance out into the box and there's no players in there awaiting the cross.

Oh and by the way, O people O. Thats the new through ball lob. You can put in some decent long balls with O. It's not as effective as the chip through ball from pes4, but that was unrealistic and far to easy to score from IMO.

i think com definitely cheats at 6 stars...i get fouled every 4 steps i run, and eventually i got to the front and score a freekick. It ends up like 28 fouls in every game i plays...so annoying,repetitive and unrealistic...
