I wish the A.I would cheat more, if only to increase difficulty. It's a bit to easy IMO.
What a load of tosh. PES5 is a clear advancement over PES4. Players DO fuck up, refs CAN be crap and even if there is still a few issues present in terms of dubious decisions when winning (possible), at the end of the day it's a great game. I'm good enough to win master league on max difficulty, but I sometimes still have a poor game. Don;t lose much, but still. The fact is that if you play it, you get better. I've scored some screamers and some very realistic goals. Maybe the headers from crosses is quite hard now, and there are a few other fairly significant flaws in realism, but it's better than anythin else out. It's still not perfect, but what do you want? It's a game. Why bother with this stupid argument? There is no justification to say PES4 is better.
Hahaha the guy who posted the first thread is only moaning bcos he cant beat anyone, must feel like Sunderland in the Prem now. The trouble is you think of it as a game and not as the real thing. This is based on the real thing unlike the previous version which was more arcade-ish. If it was so easy scoring from anywhere or beating everyone, we'd all be playing in the Champions League. Quit moaning and pracitice like kallemm28 sed. and if you want a tip, pass the ball around a bit, it works in real life and for me it works in the game.

Like the absence of properly lobbed through balls that was not the case in PES4 and to my knowledge in any other previous PES, or the utterly funny results that occur when you try them near the box and not to the wings ? Or the stupidly accurate same kind of passes that can easily be done from 254354 meters long almost all the time ?
I had an online opponent who did just that, he positioned all his players to the edges when he was planning his team's formation, and then kept hammering down long through balls from his opposition to mine. And guess what, it was working pretty well.
To my knowledge, as a real life football player, even for a small team, that AIN'T real football, not by any chance.

I'll have to agree with Stardusted on the problem with lobbed through balls. It works well down the wings and occassionally when launched from halfway line but always fails when a "soft" lob to the center is desired (no matter who's the player you are controlling). This issue plus the advantage not being given to attackers do make the game less realistic and restrict the player's options of moves. I play on 6 stars and am able to circumvent the problem by not using lobbed through balls to the center. But I'll have to admit it's unrealistic that they would always fail and land in keepers' hands.
Firstly sorry for all those Sunderland fans I have offended, I retract my statement and instead pick on Everton who are crap! hehe.
You guys are just moaners. Why is it only u guys have problems?? I have lost quite a few games... all teams lose but once i started getting better so has my results. I have given a lot of lobbed through balls whether out on the wing or down the middle, plus I think the keepers are more responsive that previously. But one thing I did learn is my 7 year old nephew is more challenging to the game on 3 stars than you guys are, and he moans less. HAHAHAHA!

zed I personally wont comment on your nephew's skills, and if you anticipated an angry reaction, then you ll wait quite a long time.
I will comment though on the fact that you say you ve given lobbed through balls in the middle, which can happen in two occasions.
1. you did them closer to your defence than to the opposition's offence
2. you did them using manual pass
3. you did them close to the opposition's offence and by using the standard L1+Triangle, in which case the ball WONT go to any of your players. and that is a fact.
You appear to be one of those who will go like "yeah it rocks" just because it is PES, which i respect as a way of thinking, but i disapprove too.
The game is still the best football sim around. That does not mean it has not faults, because it has, and we are pointing them out for ppl who actually want to see improvement.
I love the game, so for one more time, konami...
