Hi, i'm trying to make Leeds for my game but can't find a decent NetFlights.com logo. Everytime it becomes all blurry and stuff around the edges just can't get it right.
And seeing as all your shirts look outstanding, I was wondering if you could offer me some advice on how you can get them so sharp and unbelievably accurate
No problem mate, at first it was trial and error, where as now I can do them fairly quickly as I have a lot of templates already setup in Photoshop (like using the West Ham home for the Rangers kits).
I tend to look for the largest image I can for sponsors etc, Wikipedia is a great source as it's usually PNG format or just searching Google Images for JPG etc normally does the trick.
Once saved I'll manipulate and mess around in Photoshop by using 'Colour Overlay' amongst other things to make it as accurate as possible. After editing a large image to how I want it then can transfer into the Kit template I've set up and size down to match others in there. On nearly all kits I have an image of them from the actual club store, Kitbag, Subside Sports, Soccerlens, FootballShirtCulture or Google Images again and use as a reference to get the layout and proportions as close as possible.
A little walkthrough...
Taken from Google Images and used for the colour reference.
Taken from Google Images and used for the size/quality.
After using :
1. 'Magic Wand Tool' to select the white letters from larger image.
-
2. 'Rectangular Marquee Tool' then 'Layer via Cut' which makes NET and FLIGHTS.COM 2 separate layers
-
3. Going into 'Blending Options' - 'Colour Overlay' for each of them and clicking the colour box, which then lets you match/copy ANY colour from ANY image open in Photoshop (for which I'd use the first image).
-
4. Then used simple 1 pixel rubber to get rid of couple of wierd edges from 'Magic Wand Tool.'
-
6. Cropping the edges to smarten it up and Save.
Final Product...
Which is ready for resizing onto kit.
Hope this helps mate and feel to use that one for your kit! Or I'll have a pop if you want
