The first decent first person shooter for the PS2. And it's made in Holland :) .
Have you played the game or heared about it, and what do you think about it?

What about TimeSplitters?

I've heard about this game, i've heard that its good, but not great. But i'll have to play it first before making a proper judgement

And also there was SOCOM 1 and 2. It seems Killzone is not as great as these games. It got 6.9 from Gamespot and 7.5 from IGN. It was released a month ago. It was going to be the "Halo-Killer", but it seems that it is not. I meant Halo as in Halo 1. I don't think you could compare this to Halo 2.

I haven't played Killzone, only the demo. In my opion SOCOM and TimeSplitters weren't that special (wasn't TimeSplitters also an x-box titel?) and I don't believe they got very high scores (at least not in the gamesmagazines that I saw)
It's a shame that Killzone isn't that good because I have heard that it should have been (or still is) a very important game for Sony. I have played both Halo and Halo 2 and must say that I was a little bit disappointed in Halo 2. It just wasn't that magic like the original Halo. Therefore I thought Killzone could be a very huge game because I have heared in previews that it was a good game. I hope Gamespot and IGN are wrong because it can't hurt to have a good exclusive PS2 shooter.

WHAT????
TimeSplitters got rave reviews, are you sure you were reading the right mags? Timesplitters 2 got 10/10 from official playstation 2 mag. It was originally a PS2 only game but the guys who made it wanted to rake in some more money, so they made it a multi format game. I would be good for the PS2 to have an exclusive GOOD FPS, (Gamecube has Metroid Prime, Xbox has Halo) and sadly, Killzone aint it!

I'm not saying it is, I just said that I hoped it would be. I was referring to SOCOM as that game didn't get that high scores (still good scores, but no 10's) TimeSplitters might got high scores but in my opinion it just isn't that good. I mean, it's allright, but certainly not a possible Halo beater. I believe many people buy a x-box only because Halo is such a good shooter, same for the gamecube, like you said. Sadly, I don't think that PS2 has such a good shooter. Same with PES, playstation had the best football game there is exclusive for their console. But now, there is a x-box version. If every game will be on every console why bother buy a PS2 since the gamecube and x-box are both more powerfull?

I think alot of people have come to the conclusion that gamespot and ign are "up their own arses" these days. They've just compared it to Halo 2, and criticise every little thing about the game.

I read a review in a ps2 mag, where they said "because of the inexperience of the games producers and the inferiority of ps2 hardware, KillZone was an extremely ambitious and innovative game, and hopefully the team that made killzone can move onto the ps3 and with their increased experience and the backing of Sony(who've signed them up), they'll definately be able to make something to compete with the bungie "cash-cows"."

I've played and I like it, I'm not really into fps, and Halo really bored me, so I don't know how critical I can be in comparing it to similar titles, but that may be a positive 'cause as a game I'd say it was good ? comparitively, probably bad ? I don't know just play it. :)

I think Killzone is a great title. I have been playing solidly for a couple of days now and it really is good. I am in the same camp as Mr.Bickle as I have never really liked FPS games but this is dark, dirty and hardcore.

The controls are good, not too fast as in Halo etc. I have tried to play games such as Unreal Tournament and Counter Strike but I just think they are a pile of steaming excrement that do not deserve the accolades they have recieved.

it seems that most people in here are judging it without even playing it

Reviews aren't everything, they're the opinion of the person who writes it, instead of just jumping straight to the score and going shock horror this game must be shit, you should read the review and try and find out why the reviewer thinks it is bad/good and then see if you want to make your own mind up by buying the game or not. Maybe the guy does't like that type of game all that much, in OPS2 it got 9/10 but on gamespot you said it got 6.9

oh and I'm getting it for christmas, I've played the demo and liked it but I know from experience that a good/shit demo can mean fuckall (i thought it was good though) so i'll judge it in the new year sometime

You probably won't be disappointed mutu. I love it, but not having played very much I could still start to get pissed off by repetitivness or something I have yet to encounter.

I wasn't judging it, I was just giving extra info on the game and where I said seem, was when I was using other people's opinions

Played a bit more last night. It rocks!! It's very realistic, no lasers etc. Just hardcore 'Aliens' inspired machine guns and intelligent enemies that hide, sneak and react very believably. The dirty Helghast buggers.........DIE!!

I have the game, and I must say its awesome. I love the graphics, and the gameplay. It is also quite realistic too.

I do not know why this game got crap reviews. Maybe they're all halo-fanboys

My thoughts exactly Viperized. The graphics are excellent and the overall design throughout is amazing. You can have the best graphics in the world but if the designer is a wanker it won't work.

So, what do you guys now think of the game? I wanted to buy it but I didn't and now it's a lot cheaper, so for the people who played the entire game, is it worth my money?

I liked this game and its storey, only rented it though, got pissed of when I was on that swamp mission and you had to get past that net in the way, took me ages to work out what to do, like the way you can pick a different caracter for each level.

a few questions...
1.is it worth buying if i already have Timesplitters Future Perfect?
2.can you play on multiplayer?
3.how many hours does it take to finish?
