PES10 has been dumbed down, the skill factor was removed when they dropped the passing settings, you now just point and press a button, no option for manual crossing, passing shooting, as in all previous versions PES2 on (including WE series) Oh yes manual pass (r stick) which they managed to break also IMO, now you point and hopefully it goes in the right direction, the power goes up so fast there is no time to readjust so the finess play is pratically impossible at least with the option of R3 you could get you direction then have more control of the power.

Don't mean to hi-jack the thread, but I need to vent. Today I just threw the game against my wall for the second time in a week (Good thing it's a Blu-Ray).
First, and this is probably the biggest problem, the A.I.
You would think turning the difficulty up would make both the CPU and your teams A.I. that much better, But it almost does the opposite. It makes your teams A.I. absolutely, and I can't stress this enough, ABSOLUTELY FUCKING STUPID. It also makes the CPU's A.I. complete and utter cheaters. How the fuck can Nemanja Vidic 6'2" (ridiculous jump and header stats), who has inside position on CRAIG BELLAMY gets beaten to the ball. He is like a ghost. The ball goes through his head and Bellamy scores. The game is just broken. I'm talking about Top Player here. I have a lot more to say about A.I., but I need to press on.
Secondly, Master League.
I thought ML would be fantastic this year. Using currency, having realistic transfer windows. But it is absolutely awful. Let me just list the ways:
*Inability to make offers to players.
You can only do this after your scout has already made one. WHAT'S THE POINT? We should be able to say: "Alright Andres (Iniesta), here's the deal. 4 years, $60 mil. Take it or leave it."
*Inability to offer trades to teams
Absolute joke. 3 years they've had to make ML great, and they've absolutely shit the bed. We should be able to do something like: Offer: Nani. for: Pedro. Something simple, but effective.
*Fucked up transfers
In one window, Barcelona signed Gigi Buffon AND Alexandre Pato. That is bullshit. I can't even sign Michael Essien or Andres Iniesta in 3 windows, let alone 1. But here's the hilarious thing. My first year, I signed Xavi. The original offer was 3 years, $61 mil. I change it to 4 years, $41mil, and he accepts. Then in the Janurary transfer window, I sign Robinho for $63mil. Next year in the pre season transfer window, I sign Yoann Gourcuff for $71 mil. So what am I getting at? The A.I. gets an unfair advantage, on the pitch and in the clubhouse.
*International call-ups
Another A.I. exploit. You rest your best players because they are tired from being on international duty, but the team you play has their starters out there. Man City had Robinho, Bellamy, SWP, Tevez, Given, and Lescott all starting, playing they just came off a break. Terrible, absolutely awful. Another thing, the game fucks up. The only goalkeep that I can use after IC is Ben Foster. It's awful because VDS is the only keeper that doesn't go on IC. Players like Paul Scholes, VDS, Michael Owen, who aren't on their respective national clubs in the game, go on IC. But players like Patrice Evra and Anderson, who do appear for their respect NC's in the game, don't go.
In closing, the game is horrible. Filled with CPU exploits and more A.I. blunders than Russia has people. Do not buy, don't even think about buying it, unless you are ready for a let down of epic proportions.

Im personally really not liking this game at all, so much so that i dont even play it. Mate came round on sunday before the arsenal game so though id play a few games b4 kick.
I then realised that this is a shockingly back game. keepers fumbling balls that they should catch with there eyes closed. Crossing the balls almost always leads to an easy header on goal (usualy ending up in the net) players that dont turn when you want them to turn. ie running with Eto press right to try and dribble past a defender what happens nothing and he get tackled.
Y when i press shoot will the player not shoot, why when i press through ball does the ball goes miles.
If im really honest id personaly prefer pes 09 to this least with that if i wanted to turn or shoot the player would do it instantly not with a few second delay.

Fucking tragic year for football games, I just cant play more than one game of pes 2010 at a time, my low tolerance for garbage just wont let me give it a go. Lets put it this way. PES2010 is one of the few games i play, when im tempted to dip my balls in the blender, out of curiousity, just incase its more fun than playing that shit.
FIFA 10 AI= Horrific, was saying it right on here from about the 3rd day of playing it, the AI cheats like fucking crazy, everyone on the EA forums is up in arms about it. EA are a bunch of cum dumpsters, when it came to promoting fifa 10, they were all over the place lying their asses off about how good it was. Now shit has hit the fan, they are refugees on their own board. If Marcel Kuhn doesnt get on the boards in the next 48 hours to promise a gameplay patch, im going to get my xmas savings and spend it on a chilean hitman to eliminate that cunt.

What you said was, every footie game Konami released was pretty much the same which is absolutely not true. Like I said, I played probably every single footie game that Konami released and over the years there definitely was a massive improvement. PES&WE ratings grew and grew each year. Now, on next-gen is a different story but with PES 10 improvements and IMHO being better than FIFA10, I can say that PES 11 will be a much better game.

PES 2008 is nothing like PES 2010... Have you tried playing both of them?
PES 2008 should not be called PES, it was total and utter crap!
I never bought into the 2010 hype because of this new engine,in 08 seabass said that 2010 would be based on a new PES game engine (others were built from Ps2) so I treat this game as I did Fifa 08

Now this engine is here I expect 2011 will be about updated gameplay mechanics because the groundwork is set.I'll expect Fifa 09 levels of improvement over this years PES,if not then I think seabass should consider handing over development of current gen console,and working towards Next x-box and Ps4.
I've find that PES has lost the edge in freedom of control,there was a time were Fifa felt completely automated next to PES,but I feel the roles are slightly reversed.I feel like my hand is being held.
Were PES should go (imo) is allow full player control like Fifa 10,in that regards it's light years ahead,but mix it in with PES brilliant first touch mechanics.that with full analog control would breath new life into it,and generally they should make it feel less automated.

Fifa online is extreemly fun and the best thing about fifa is you can be anyone and still pull out a result. You dont constantly need to be a massive team. If Pes could just add about 3.8 million annimations it may be the best game of all time but atm its just horribly robotic. Its fine when you have a quality, trained ML team with developed stats where players can move quick and turn sharpley but as soon as you use Palermo for example its like controling a team of medieval knights. They are horribly unresponsive and their running annimations are so bad its embarrising to show friends. The master league is legendary though. Fifa's main problem is the shooting. It really pisses me off. Its like kicking a helium balloon ffs and you can never really 'drill home' a shot. Even at point blank range and the power bar hammered down its soft. Fifa is alot more of a sim though but offline is useless. Pes is robotic but is addictive and the ML kicks fuking A.

That's exactly why I hate FIFA 10. Every team high or low rank plays THE SAME. Same speed, your defenders, midfielders are all playing the same. I played Bosnia and Herzegowina and beat Argentina 4-2 ?? how often does this happen 99.9% never
