Konami Release Online Statement

The following was announced on the Official UK PES site this morning:

Konami Digital Entertainment GmbH in Europe is aware of problems with the online elements of its Pro Evolution Soccer 6 titles. Konami apologise for any problems that some people might experiencing at times, and can reassure fans of the series that we are currently investigating the situation in order to present solutions as quickly as possible.

Good to hear. Hope they get it sorted soon, alot of people still haven't played online yet, thankfully i'm not one of them.

Well don't hold your breath. i've played pes5 online on the xbox360.
although it was ok it was still difficult to get games especially the quick match mode
they say they are sorting it out but they never did for pes5.
oh unless you played it online on ps2 however, which had lobbies and you could send ingame txt to your opponents very rare to get a quitter as WELL

I have tried playing against PS2 users using my PC and it doesnt enter the PS2 lobby. It says it cant enter lobby. Is Konami making some add on so u can play against PS2 users or wat because the PC v PS2 online matches dont seem to work.

Well, I've never been to their UK site, but exactly the same thing I get when I (try to) go to net with my PC version. Only thing is that I`m not sure if that is on-line info or they have just pre-loaded it on DVD...

The online play is non existent. It is rumored that some lucky (?) guys have played online but that's just rumors ... You have to wait almost 10 minutes to register for a competition and when you do an error message kicks you out. And if you try to play with anybody in a playroom you have a 60% chance to finish the game without any connection errors ... (my last 3 games didn't end).
The gameplay is worse than pes5 and the online doesn't work. Why should anybody buy it? (I mean except from the stupid who already did)

i noticed something really pointless they took out of the 360 version. the little coloured cursors above your blokes head, when you go off the screen u dont get the little cursor follow you around the screen you get nothing (on the pes5 they made it go feinter the further away you were (nice touch)). this is stupid becausee i think the cursor around the screen i think is on every other football game, no field sport game i can remember. so why take it out mr and mrs konami/seabass??
it is on the ps2 version tho so well done

The online play is an absolute joke. I have tried playing several times online on the 360 version and here is my experience:

• 
  any free kick (dead ball situation) that either team is taking, the frames drop to something like 5 fps

• 
  lag usually results in a "pulsating" movement (start, stop)

• 
  game lags when the ball hits the net!!

It is not my connection - we are both in the UK, I have 5mb down, 900k up, no interleaving!

Usually I can forgive PES flaws but not when I can't even play online - because usually the gameplay is so good. But I am getting much, more more annoyed - how about real leagues, more divisions (e.g. english championship, division 1 & 2), real sponsors, real kits, real team names!

I live in Denmark and I got a 4mb/512kb connection. I have been playing a couple of games but it has not worked proparly. It is really hard to connect to a game! And when you finally get to play, it has such a lag. Everytime you want to shoot or make a long pass the meter is going trough my tv, knocking down some plants... F***ing annoying! I really hope that they sort this out soon!!!

PES loyal but...

As an older gamer i've been playing since the ISS days and enjoyed the changes in the game over the years with both PES and the WE series.
I went online for the first time last year (pes5) and was looking forward to getting online with PES6 since it was flawed with lag and a poor interface in PES5. Online was'ent TOO BAD the day after the release, but now its got worse and its driving me nuts, Its so slow between pages and the lags getting worse all the time taking the fun out of the onine expierence for me and i feel that Konami have really taken a half arsed approach to this aspect of the game and its not the only thing as i think that various important editing points are missing, eg, editing commentry names, 6*, german teams, ect.. I've played quite a few PS2 games online with no problems, its a shame i can't play my favorite game, I feel like backing up my game and selling the original on ebay and going back to playing my master league which is another thing which has been badly neglected and has been in need of an massive update in recent versions. Why does Konami have to show such complacency to a game that has such a cult and loyal following.
I'm not complaining about the gameplay itself as its the best footie you will play but why have the other aspects been ignored when they should compliment the excellent gameplay and i feel people are ignoring this point out of loyalty to the brand.
Thats why why i'm not sure if this is good news or not because since the game has sold so well they might not get there finger out..
Anyway, its a shame Konami have to shoot themselves in the foot like this and all i can hope for is a massive overhaul of the master league, online, interface and other aspects of the game when the next gen PES is released, thanks for yout patience.
