I cant even dribble past Rubin Kazan defenders using Robinho FFS.

Defending is garbage. You cant steal balls from even a mediocre dribbler (on top player) and taking it from Messi, Nani or Krasic etc is impossible. I use all the tricks in the book. R2, square, and X, use marking, but nothing works. Your defenders always act like idiots, and often run the opposite direction, or stop marking players when not controlled by you.

Free Kicks. Fun? Yeah. Its a lottery, however sometimes you get a nice rewarding shot straight under the post. But, then the AI gets to shoot, it gets ridiculous. Anything under 30 meters is a goal. I played a game against Man Utd in which Nani (not really a great FK artist) scored a hat trick with 3 free kicks, with basically 3 perfect FLAWLESS shots. The goalkeeper had no chance.


Shooting. Something that was the best part of the series. I remember some of the bombs I used to score with Zidane, Seedorf or Recoba in the older series. The shots felt powerful, looked skillful, and brought great entertainment. However this too is gone. Now shooting feels like kicking a balloon. The ball floats like a plastic bag blown by the wind. They are extremely weak, inaccurate, and unrewarding. The fact that instead of running up to the ball and kicking it when you press shot early, the players decide to fall on the grass and slide doesn't help either.

If you make creating dangerous situations so hard, shouldnt scoring a 1 v 1, or shooting from inside the box easier, and more accurate? I watch football and I see that when a player gets to those positions (and getting there is the challenge) he usually scores with ease. But here I have Ibrahimovic or Robinho getting a good situation once or twice a game (a 20 minute game) and usually wasting it in a idiotic fashion. As I said, I played this game since I was 8, and Im 22 now, and I know how to use all the controls, I know how to chip, or how to dribble the keeper, however in this game all this is useless and doesnt work. The only way you get a goal is through luck or a random cross in the penalty area.

The feints are useless. You cant get past a defender using them. Even shoot+pass which used to be my go to trick doesn't work on keepers or defenders, as they just stand there and wait to take the ball while you attempt to run past them.

The off the ball controls are shit. There is no other way to say this. In older games the players on your team used to support you, try to keep up with the action , and get into good positions. Here they don't. They act like idiots who don't want to be there. The off the ball controls make the guy run forward like a headless chicken,- he doesn't even try to run into a good position, he just runs forward. Its useless during throw ins, and its useless during corners. Its just shit.

Players don't support you during counters. They slowly walk forward, and you end up trying to get past 5 players with 2.


The "grade" system for stats is stupid. Why didn't you keep the old "spider web"? I used to be able to look at that and see if a player was good or not, now I look at a guy and see a bunch of B's and C's, later to find out that he's actually pretty good. I don't want to go through 3 sub screens to see those stats, I want them right in my face.

I am not able to enjoy this game. Its just not fun to me. I tried playing it on Pro and Regular, but its the same. While its easier, its still not fun.

I loved this series, and faithfully got every single game that came out for the Playstation 1, 2 and 3. But this is too much. the series has been going downhill for a long time, and it culminated in this piece of shit.

I used to laugh at FIFA being a game for kids, and I never played it. My friends did the same. Now all of them moved to FIFA, and they say its great. I never thought it would come to this, but I'm going to trade my copy in, and get FIFA 12 too.

Konami, you have f#@$ed this series so bad its not even funny. Soon PES will fade into oblivion. Good job.

Good one, i agree on everything you said.

I hate AI cheating they have put in game, so matches would not be predictable when you play, but its pure crap.
I especially hate when you play and you make same thing with 2 different resaults each time, especialy power of passing, shooting or through balls, i make 3 passes with full power, and my nest pass when i really need full power is fail, player acts like dieing old man, and i play with Chelsea mostly, so i dont think Lampard or Mata have problems with passing, they dont have low skills, which are also crap.

Every year Konami is saying we are making something so great it will be new revolution, and they give shit, just big talk, and power over clients using marketing tricks, they can fix everyting but they wont cause who will buy next title when they promise they will fix things.

Well good luck cause i think more and more players who know something about reall soccer/footbal hate this game, those geeks who say "you just didnt master the game" are another thing, they play cause its a game and for them game is enough, but this would sopose to be a SIMULATION!!!!!

I agree that pes 2012 have some bugs and things to get better. The IA have problems of supernatural skills, I agree on that.

But... you can't dribble? That's on you man.
Defending is garbage? I've no problem.
Feints useless? What do you expect? That you press a button without sense and voilá? You have to prepare the feint first.

Please, PLEASE, see any match between Milan and Rubin Kazan, and see if Robinho dribble every player and scores on EVERY match!!! That is very good feature, and still lacks on some players. That needs to be MORE difficult yet adding condition on every moves.


I do have a question, do you ever play soccer on a real 11vs11 field? I think not. Because if you do, you will know very well that trivial situations are decisive. You can "carrefully" improve your probability of winning, but you can't ensure you will win man, THAT is soccer. You play nice, you defend, you think, you try and try, and MAYBE you win.

Konami, just continue to get more REALISTIC.
Asbestos, I think that if you bought FIFA, then go to FIFA forums to talk about how wonderful the game is.

We want soccer simulation, not a button-skilled-game for newbies at soccer.

yes defending sucks, if you play on professional and above your defence is crap, oh and did you try superstar difficulty? oh and goalkeeper youll say he is good also?

so you say real life soccer is like pes? does in real life soccer player stop runing to a ball even if ball is just few steps in front of him, or does all of sudden happens that your team can't get ball away from your penalty area no matter how hard they try or how hard they shoot, ball only gets few meters away? thats just few things i could list more of them.

watching match and playing one is totally different thing, i cant belive you dont see difference and write down thing like this. use 2 similar teams, play on professional or top player, and when you play with team A against team B you will be behind team B that is AI controled in ball control, close air passing, dribbling through 2 or 3 players on you, and stoping they players doing thing like that, then after 2 or 3 matches change teams and play with team B, same thing will happend now team A will be so much better in those things and if you had some problems they will magicly disapere when they are controled by AI

yes you can ensure that you will win, the thing your talking about is something different, its situation where Barcelona loses a game against Rubin in Russia in winter conditions, on frozen field, and without few main players, thats not the same, and of courese you can lose against team that is similar in strength like your team, but you wont lose cause all of sudden your teamates cant run, or cant clear area, thats AI cheating not AI intelligence

First of all, I don't say that PES is like real life soccer. obviuslly is a game trying to be like reality. To be like reality is impossible. I think that there is many match situacions on PES that happens in real life, even if you don't like it.

I don't need to tell you how old am I. I was born playing soccer. I play soccer every week. I know how it's like. I don't mind if you go to play FIFA, i'm encouraging you to do that. And surelly I'm older than you.

"Watching a game is obviuslly different to play one..." In that paragraph I think you say a meaningless sentence. First you say that and then you say "IA has scripted things". I never defend that my friend, even that is i think the bigger problem of PES, the scripted IA. But that it's not the real game. The real PES game is against some one. If you know some of IA concepts, then you will know that IA can't be like a human bean. I think you understand that.

I brough the game too, if you say that about torrents for anything in particular.

Yes, I actually say that they have some bugs. I think maybe you're underestimating how difficult is to develop a soccer game. So if you really think that fifa is better, then go on. If you came here, is for helping to improve PES, not to cancel the game, I think you will understand the evolutive and commercial reasons of that.

The Passing is utter cr*p. Ruined. Players pass to the opposition more than your own players and often in the COMPLETE opposite way to where you want/point the controller. 2011 gave me the feeling of being in control of my passing. A bad ball was always my fault but in 2012 anything can happen and the ball could go anywhere.
Players only make runs and create space if it is a game you are supposed to win (Scripting) This also seems to have no relevance on the players abilities, my 95 rated striker stands there like a lemon in the same way a 70 rated one does. I thought this was supposed to be the game where you could set up your own set pieces ? I would like to choose where my players stand in the box for a corner...
The inability to EVER clear a corner properly. I would love to put a defender on the edge of the area to snuff out that Inevitable rubbish clearance but alas I am not allowed to.
I used to have whole days of PES but now I can just about play 2 matches without being so frustrated and annoyed and bewildered and angry that I turn it off and play something else ...

right now im watching Champions league match Bayern Munich VS Basel, and comparing to this so called "simulation" i saw maybe 50% of real match situations in PES games i play, and those 50% are things CPU does in match (their ability to cover defense, some passes and player positions and reactions), only thing i saw like in game is when my player has ball on wing position. And i think for simulations 50% is nothing.

Other than that, like 2 different worlds, defense reactions and covering that my players do only in 1 out of 10 games (btw Konami, why did you remove "Covering" skill card for defenders, or "DF leader"??? one more "brilliant" move :realmad: and individual training in Master League, i mean really, players do have individual trainings, or each positions has its own training depending of team, plus whole team training!!!)

trough balls that Basel had, even if they were outplayed by Bayern were good, better then most you can do in game, if you are living player, and even Basel is coincided weaker team then Bayern they still CAN clear penalty area, or react well in midfield, or even if Robben is fast and agile, if 2 or 3 defenders are on him they take ball away. I dont even wanna start talking about how midfielders, especially attacking midfielders are running way too much forward in most situations, and goalkeeper, sometimes i feel there is no goalkeeper in game.

and now its over 60th minute, and they still run reasonably good, and are tough enough, i dint saw any side getting some god like abilities all of sudden. Even though Basel form fell in second part and they got real but whooping, they are sill lesser average team for Champions league, so thats normal, you cant get lucky all the time, but still they were far better and put some resistance then you can when you are suppose to lose in PES

So thats it from me, so all you guys who think game has some real life resemblance, and you "know" how real life works and how game works, well something is wrong then, oh and Basel lost cause they were worse then Bayern, not because they needed to lose

P.S. i just hope someone from konami is actually reading any topic on this forum, it would be nice if some of those experts would give us some feedback

I hate this game more and more each time i play.
.My players keep on colliding with each other( PES 6 AI was even better).
.Players can't judge when the ball is off the ground.
.Ball and ref is always at CPU favour.

Pretty much agree with everything asbestos has said pes12 is the first time i haven't bought a pes/iss game since i can't remember feels like all my team mates have been struck with dumbness i mean how can a ball go through your players legs after traveling 50 yards.

As for one on one i've found that you can score pretty much every time if you chip the keeper if you don't do that then you rarely score.

PES12 is aimed to much at the past fifa fan boys who like the unrealistic shit.

Exactly how I feel about the game. How the blind fans can ignore the ridiculous faults in the game I don't know. Its just so bad! If it was COD you'd spend the game shooting yourself in the face! I refuse to go to FIFA as that's still awful, but Konami won't be stealing anymore of my money! :realmad:

How crap is this game though? Its been totally ruined. There really is so many flaws with the game. I think I need to get myself PES5 or PES6 :) How has this game went so wrong though? Is there any explanation?

I agree with you 110% . Couldnt of explained it any better then u did.
Ive been loyal to pes since iss days and now have made the decision to buy fifa next year.

I have played PES since it first came out on the Playstation 1. Never missed one installment.I was a PES "fanboy" since I was 7 or 8. There were some worse and better ones, but PES 2012 is the biggest piece of garbage in the history of the series.

Konami, you have f***ed this series so bad its not even funny. Soon PES will fade into oblivion. Good job.

You don't want them to copy EA because then the gameplay will become pointless. You need emotional attachment. Not only is scripting in Fifa bullshit but I got extremely bored mentally as well because I felt that my inputs hardly meant anything anymore. And contain! The game itself effectively dictates the winner through the casual use of contain & scripting.

It's so ridiculous... I mean it doesn't feel like you're taking part in the game anymore. The game controls you.

Edit: You're forced to use contain just because it's there & he could be using it (although lots don't like to admit it) & this then makes the game totally boring mundane stuff.

And the scripting is just a joke...

I mean the game might even prevent you from controlling this defender quite a bit in advance so it can move this defender away in a bid to make a goal a few secs later.

Don't want them to copy EA.
